Has anyone ever bought a rifle/shotgun out of state at a gun show (or elsewhere) via a private sale? Obviously there is no paperwork involved in such a transaction, but is there anything illegal about bringing that firearm back to NY?

Move to another state if it is so important to you. They intentionally make this process as annoying/irritating as possible to dissuade people from owning handguns. I would go as far to say that if you live in counties that act this way towards CCW, it is almost not even worth it.

Oh yeah???......so your've carried in Florida, south carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine (all states on the Eastern seaboard do not recognize either a NY or PA permit).......I think you need a geography lesson
