Of course. There is even a local article about how surprised people are that people can carry a gun onto a plane, as if it's in their checked baggage.
And people asking if we should have the entrance to an airport secured, as if that somehow prevents a person from just attacking a line of people waiting in front of that checkpoint.

So with everyone making a big deal of firearms in checked baggage, what is to prevent someone from driving a van full of explosives directly into a baggage claim area and detonating it? What is to prevent any common criminal from walking into an airport baggage claim area with a legal or illegal firearm and doing exactly what this guy did after getting off his plane?
Very curious to hear more about his mental illness and whether he actually did have a permit. I also would not be surprised to find out he was actually some sort of Manchurian candidate that the government was forcing to watch Isis propaganda videos.
At the end of the day though, Obamas FBI can't even stop a terrorist when the terrorist turns himself in and tells them he is a terrorist. But gun control tho.....

Wait and see. New legislation to ban all transportation of firearms from airport (like that will really stop all killings from occurring) and additional moves to label Vets mentally unstable. And I'm with Twingy here. Mentally ill or not, something deeper seems to be going on. Going to prep my new tin foil hat soon.

It proves one thing that we here all know, All the kings horses, and all the kings men, couldn't make the airports safe again .
All that strip searching, and crotch grabbing your wife and daughter, all the rights we gave up to fly, all the billions of dollars in security and new agency's didn't stop some dumb asshat from opening fire on people in the airports..
By the time the police arrived , he had emptied two mags and and shot 13 people, probably in under a minute .Which is an undeniable observation that the police cant protect you , even in public , ask the dead guys, ( not blameing the police , you can only be so fast) it just goes to show, that if you are not allowed to protect yourself , you are at the mercy of the criminals .

I have heard a few reports that this fine young man is a Sunni Muslim with Salafi beliefs. I wonder how many news groups will speak of this?

When they figure how to keep drugs out of prison, then maybe they can outline what it would take to keep guns out of "safe spaces".
