Just to sweeten the pot, there will be another backdoor tax change under the new mayor that will hit middle and upper class taxpayers. Whether you rent or own, this will provide further encouragement for the income tax base to flee the city...
Not selling any, but consider an SKS or Mosin Nagant. They will be a fraction of the price of a Garand or M1 carbine, and the ammunition will be 50% of the cost.
I was in Ithaca yesterday. I can confirm that outside of the university areas and the Commons, it's still a shithole. They need all the police they can get.
Had Washington not dropped in helicopter money to bail out NYS' $11B budget deficit this year, then the bill would have come due. The can has been kicked down the road by a year, and Albany is in full fatted pig mode with a 22% increase in the New York budget this year. Whoever has a job and...
Let's see . . .
90% of highly paid Manhattan officeworkers now telecommuting
Rampant and growing crime and homelessness on every corner
Failing city services like trash pickup and delayed and truly unsafe subways
Massive new tax increases on high earners coming from Albany
Remaining...
This is the 10th case up in the last 4 years or so. Perhaps having ACB will make it more likely they take the case this time but we may all be disappointed with the result.
Is this one of those unintended consequences again from Albany's reforms? 14 year olds cannot be tried as adults, so the local drug dealers are now using young teens as hitmen.
Not that I am surprised, but there is a lot more going on here than we know. Buried in a New York Times story:
"The suspect’s identity was previously known to the FBI because he was linked to another individual under investigation by the bureau, according to law enforcement officials."...
By the way, I wouldn’t say things are great. The stock market is in a bubble - bigger than the dotcom bubble, IMHO. Same with bitcoin. Inflation will be off the charts as the .gov prints and borrows another $5T or so before 2024. The US is barely a tick away from being Argentina. The key...
That's not accurate. We are seeing continuing COVID-related interruptions in the supply chains for durable goods and for select components (notably chips) but not for food or commodities basics. That's why Y2Kers saying "FOOD IS SCARCE" lack credibility. We are in fact running large foodstuff...
Update:
A Rock River AR-15 rifle serial# CM203155 with optic# K3319796 in a black nylon carrying case was last seen on Tuesday, March 16, along State Route 9 in the vicinity of Riverside Drive in the town of Chestertown. The missing rifle is owned by the New York State Police...
One other detail, the 18% surcharge will also apply to insurance companies. So that's an 18% bump in your homeowners and auto policies. I wonder how that will work its way through the health insurance market.
That's a pipe dream. The demographics are such that poor Rob doesn't have a chance. And if by some miracle he does win, the Democratic supermajority in both houses in Albany means that he can't block too much.
I realize my original post is slightly misleading. An increase in the top rate from 8.85% to 11.85% is a 3% increase in rates but works out to a 33% tax hike on the upper bracket. Good luck keeping those people in New York.
A fountain of new taxes and a 22.6% increase in the state budget, including to provide quite a bit for "undocumented immigrants".
The New York State tax income tax rate will now climb from 8.85% to 11.85%, a 3% increase, plus other surcharges like a 1% boost in capital gains tax.
Add on this a...
