Almost 2 weeks and still no part from Savage. They emailed me that the required part, a small spring for the bolt, was "restricted" and could only be sent to my FFL. Don't understand that but WTH they live in a blue state so who knows. My FFL contacted them and Savage told them they would ship...

    Light strikes on .308 ammo.

As I await parts from Savage (and Godot) I have been surfing the net for other solutions. One post suggested finger placement on the Savage AccuTrigger could impact firing pin striking force. I tried this with a half dozen snap caps. Results were interesting but counter-intuitive. The higher I...

    Light strikes on .308 ammo.

Update: Savage replied to my service request. They say the problem is the gun's firing pin needs new springs. They will only send these to an FFL to install (unless I send them the whole gun) which I don't understand but OK. Will let you know if these fix the problem.

Light as compared to the indents on my other 308 rifles. The firing pin protrusion appears to be in spec at .059", though...

    Transporting Long Guns

Thank you all. Most have been very helpful and confirmed what many have already said. NYC, NJ, DC to be avoided. MD was a bit of a surprise. but can be avoided. A western NY thru PA is doable. Again my thanks.

    Transporting Long Guns

Q: Is it legal to drive my long guns from NY to Georgia?. The guns are compliant in both states. I am a NY resident with a GA home. I have a GA CCW. I drive straight through with the locked guns in my trunk. There is no ammo in the car. I do not stop or leave the car unattended.
