Hey everyone. A friend is looking for a set of target grips (enlarged thumbrest) for a Ruger Mark I A54 frame (pre '71). So go check your boxes, surely someone has a set still lying around
Brownells has no hazmat on powder and primers right now in case you aren't on their mailing list. Looks like they have magtech large rifle primers in stock too. Just an FYI
So my buddy went to Cabela's today to get some Hornady die bushings and he's telling me that they made him show his pistol permit. Has anyone else heard of this?
Might be worth a shot. I did go back and check with a long handled plastic pick and it seems to actually drop down into the grooves and check marks in the barrel. Some of them aren't visible in the pics. I did find a post from someone with a RIA VR80? with the same problem shooting only slugs...
My buddy just picked up a Ruger Mark I and we're trying to find an extra mag or 2. I think there used to be an extended mag release available too. It's a pretty cool little gun. Serial puts it at 1965. Shoots great, just need stuff. Let me know if you've got anything lying around. Thanks
So I bought this just as a fun gun. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing especially for the price. It's a Rock Island Armory Likn X4 semi-auto. It was around $300. It's actually pretty cool, fun to shoot. The trigger is definitely on the heavy side. It has a shell selector switch, 4 chokes. One...
I'm using a Hornady lock ring. I don't know why they don't include lock rings. I did call Lee. They basically ran through some things with ne and kind of left it there. I'll probably get it replaced. Not sure if maybe it doesn't like the bullet. I told him what I was loading, sounded like he...
I'm getting.009" runout with my Lee Grendel die. I am new to reloading, but I still know consistency is the best path to good results. I'm not trying to bash Lee. IMy .223 die set works well and bullet seating is within.003" and I like the factory crimp die. I just wanted to know what...
So I've been having a consistency problem with my Lee bullet seating Die in 6.5 grendel. My RCBS Small Base dies in 7.62x51 seem pretty consistent. Just wondering what everybody else is using and having good results with. Lee tells me .005" runout on the seater die is normal (mine is excessive)...
OK, got the new scale. Powered them both up and let them warm up. Cal and zero with powder pan. After sitting for a couple hours the old one changed .5gr while the new one remained the same. I loaded 50rds of 6.5 grendel. I didn't notice anything change on the new scale. The old one I had to...
Haven't been at the bench, however I was having trouble duplicating it. I'm going to see what happens next time I fire it up. I always warm this thing up for hours before I use it, but still get weird deviations. Then when I go back and check my powder weight from the case it comes back lighter...
So yeah, I let the scale warm up for quite a while before hand. I also agree that as long as the weight is correct with the trickler next to it then who cares. I've had some other anomalies that I don't like. The scale is calibrated and zeroed everytime I use it and re-zeroed while using. I know...
Anyone ever experience this, I have a Frankford Arsenal platinum digital bench scale. When I put the trickler next to it the weight changes .4gr. Nothing is touching the scale. It's a Frankford Arsenal trickler as well, not that it would matter. Just wondering if this should be something to...
I've been reaming with the drill. RCBS has a nice reamer that actually hase a base on it so you can't go crazy. Definitely like it better than the standard crimp reamers I've been using. Just picked up the Lee Ram Swager die. Did some 5.56. seems to work well. Haven't tried it on the 7.62 yet
The 168gr SMKs seem to be the go to so when I saw the 168gr Hornady BTHPM for half the price I figured they were worth trying out. Cabela's happened to get a delivery of priners in when I was there the other day so I was able to pick some up.
I'm full length sizing with RCBS small base Dies. I'm also trimming with lyman E ZEE trim. Of course my 308 pilot is not correct (wasn't stamped and won't fit in case). New Pilot is on the way, but I assume it should trim to 2.005. The Western powder guide doesn't seem to list 7.62 separately...
Picked up some Hornady 168gr BTHP. At that price point I definitely figured they worth trying. Problem is I'm just finding out that large rifle primers seem to be unobtanium. If anyone has a source please let me know
Hey everyone. So just started reloading and I'm wondering if anyone has any good recipes for .308. It's going in a LR308 with Faxon 20" 1 in 10 twist. Pretty much all Aguila 7.62 brass. I was thinking something in the 170gr range, maybe heavier but obviously COAL needs to feed a gas gun with...
Brass on the left my buddy cleaned for me with the rotary tumble and pins with detergent. The brass on the right I cleaned with an RCBS Vibratory case cleaner I picked up second hand but unused. It came with the Lyman Tuff Nut so that's what I used. Came out great, but I had stupid red dust on...
