The big difference between those and the standard CCI 400 small rifle primers is that the cup is harder in order to prevent slamfires. Your biggest problem would be misfires caused by a light primer strike. If that's not going to be an issue, use them. Somewhere I have a thing written...

Not sure where you intend to hunt, but make sure you read the DEC hunting regulations and understand them. Certain areas are limited to using LESS THAN .22 caliber centerfire rifles while ANY big game season is open. So, .204 and .17 caliber centerfire is good to go, but .22 and larger is not.

Don't pass over a Colt Woodsman if you find one. They're well made, accurate, and comfortable to shoot. The price may be a bit steep compared to other pistols, but the resale value is high as well.
