Paperwork in today and finger print date set... pretty far out - January 21. At least we are finally in the system. We all know gun sales are hitting records but here is just another affirmation that people are taking their own safety seriously and not leaving it up to the government.

We finally got our paperwork and signatures all worked out and appt with the clerk for next Tuesday. They are only taking appts for permit applications but sounds like they are busy and taking them steadily.

Check Ulster Firearms ( they had a few last month ). Also Collectors Rifle in Hopewell... they had some a few weeks ago. Around $850 if I recall the price tag correctly.

It is even harder to believe when you walk into a place like Collectors Rfle and Ammo in Hopewell Junction and they are literally stacked with guns and cases of ammo.

Depends what you’re shooting I guess. My 870 is always loaded with Federal Flight Control buck. It will punch a 2”hole in the target with that being the maximum spread of the pellets in my house. So aim is kinda critical for me. Ammo Supply Warehouse has that in stock at last check. If not...

I think most laws in NYS are purposefully written to make you wonder if what you are doing is actually legal. Same reason some places will ship ammo to NY and other won't. Gray areas are created by design in Albany. FUAC. You should post in the introduction section also ;)

It was the flash hider.. I will try to get a decent picture but I just have the camera on my phone/tablet. FWIW.. I used the term drilled out. They did say the casting was bad.. tomorrow I’ll pop the flash hider off and snap a picture of it and the barrel end.

I actually just got back from DJS in Connecticut. There was a casting error on the flash hider and while it wasn’t evident from looking at it while attached to the barrel they picked up on it in their shop and they ended up drilling it out. Said it should be good to go and no more buckshot...

ahhh.. but what if I told you those 6 holes were made by 3 bullets?

I am going down now to clean the rifle and I'll take the front hand guard off to see what is stamped on the barrel.

I am pretty confident I am not qualified to recognize what could be a defect or issue with the barrel or muzzle device. I might bring it to my local gunsmith for help on examining before I press on with this. @meketrefe - so you are asking if I have fired the rifle with the flash hider...
