Was nice meeting you yesterday Ben & Al.
For anyone interested I just posted a new thread detailing my experience from my first pistol training session. Be sure to check it out here :
Completed my First Defensive Pistol Class w/ OnSight Training
On Saturday I took the Defensive Pistol Course with OnSight Firearms at Blue Mtn Range in Cortland Manor NY taught by Ben & Rachel.
Let me first say that this was my first live fire instructor led course. I have taken an NRA safety class in addition to a general handgun safety class to get my...
Great quote in that article that more people esp in NY need to realize for themselves
"In an “us or them” world that criminals force law-abiding citizens into, we’d rather choose us. Bad guys will always choose their own. It’s up to us to be armed and prepared to even up our chances of coming...
Ha - good work, next thing you know we'll see they got training directly from the local Hillary post.
So the dems sticky fingers when handling the ballots forced them to jam and have to be run through 5 more times? makes sense...
I want to try shooting rifle both eyes open as well
I have a Vortex 1-8x scope on my AR that I have shot the 1x at close range (5-25yards) both eyes open, but never anything off the bench. I have an astigmatism in my right eye which makes it difficult for me to see my reticle some days so I am...
I was shooting a lot closer, 7-15 yards but still noticed quite a difference, i wont have the opportunity to shoot until next Saturday where I am taking onsight's class.
I plan to do a lot of dry fire practice this week with my targets at different ranges it different lighting and backdrop...
Honestly i was practiced both eyes open as well yesterday
At first it took longer to get my eyes to focus on the front sight, however after about a half hour of shooting it felt a lot more comfortable and my followup shots were easier to put in the same spot.
I am going to keep shooting like...
They will ship you whatever you want for the p320 direct to you except for the FCU which is engraved with the serial # as that is considered the firearm
If you are loading for a revolver you are better off getting a single stage press u can mount to something for more leverage and ease of sizing.
I think the hand press uses special dies as well which was a turn off for me when i was looking at something to deprime outside my workbench since i...
Thats good to know and makes sense, I appreciate you explaining your thoughts as well
I trim my 223 brass to min length as well and 10% of the time once fired factory brass doesnt hit the blades in the cutter. I still toss them in the trim bucket and havent noticed a difference when plinking...
Really?
If you want i can shoot one of the customer service guys over there who i order all my parts through an email to see what he says.
I dont think i would ever realistically get a conversion kit, for the cost and hassle getting the caliber added to my permit along with the $40 magazines I...
Thats true
With a necked case like the 357 sig, do you have to trim or need extra dies?
I also hardly (never) see 357 sig brass on the range to supplement buying factory ammo to shoot to reload the brass
As well my reloading costs for 9mm is about 10.5 cents a round for a round that mimmicks...
I always liked the explorer but it doesnt feel right on the wrist. I highly suggest you try them on, the flatter bezel just seems different to me as well, not sure if that was a good or bad thing.
This one was a choice between the LV or the GMT II blnr, made the right choice but still want to...
Wouldnt fit my current holsters as the trigger guard is round instead of square and the SC grip doesnt have the Picatinny Rail to hold a light if i wanted to.
Still might pick one up though the try it out
I ordered it right when it came out from a local gun store. That is why this grip doesnt match the slide release.
The newer models come with the flat take down lever and small slide release along with the new style grip that matches up with those.
I upgraded to the newer parts so i have 2 extra...
Its honestly looser then the PPQ, although I wouldnt say the 320 rattles or anything just has a bit of movement
Also to note my 320 has around 6500 rounds through it so it might be looser then the PPQ since that has less then 1k though it
Feels not to different shotting as i usually dont apply much pressure with my pinky on the grip.
3 comfortably
only thing I should have done different was leaving more of a beaver tail
the lighter bullets you load are those .357 heads or dedicated 35rem bullets.
I just started reloading 35rem so if you are in the need of brass I have some
Well just the handle
Got the dremel out and cut my p320 Compact handle it to fit the subcompact mag
Saved about 1inch in handle length and still have the ability to run a light
U can walk right on. They will take your slip and pair you in with the next open group
You can use semi or pump, load one round at a time when it is your turn and empty /open camber when it is not.
If you watch the group before you you will figure out how its done.
Last sunday the 20th when...
Wish i new about the extra 10%off, they wouldnt change my order after the fact.
oh well i know for next time, wonder how long the 7k rounds will last me.
Phazer - Best of Luck and keep us updated.
If need be i bet we can setup some sort of go fund me page or the like to help with any legal fees. I would def donate as a favorable outcome would have a positive effect on the community for sure.
Congrats on your build, do you own any other long guns ?
I did the same thing as you and ended up going BCM complete upper when it was on sale as it seemed like the best value and it was cheaper to buy together as compared to assembling myself.
You want to use the Local FFL info.
I had mine transfer to a local FFL and when it came in made sure it was the correct model and their was no issues (i suggest you do the same so you can return it if need be), there wasnt and i recorded the serial and sent the paperwork in.
Three weeks later...
They had 20% off last year for cyber monday. I purchased 8 500 head boxes just in case they dont do the 20% off sale monday.
If they do I plan to buy 6 more boxes, their product is a lot more consistent then Berry's, only complaint was last year more order took 7 weeks to get to my door...
