Hi,
I'm located in Westchester County, NY. I'm selling a lot of my excess gun stuff to help fund school tuition. Below is my available inventory for sale. I'll travel a reasonable distance to make a sale especially if you're buying a lot. I won't drive to Massachusetts, Connecticut, New...
No its fine,
The M1A was a Standard model that had a Flash Hider on it. NY says Flash Hiders are not allowed (for semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines) so the gun shop removed it and made the end of the barrel flat and flush. Its seamless and you can't tell that it was done...

Hi,
I'm selling my Browning BAR. I bought it a very long time ago at a gun show and I've shot it a few times a year but haven't used it for hunting like I intended. I'm selling it because I need the money to pay for tuition this fall. The rifle was made in Belgium and it's in very...
Tbh when I'm saving 50 dollars by buying online, the advantage of "no needing to wait for shipping" is basically saying I'm paying 50 dollars for no shipping. Since I'm so prone to buying online that's like paying 50$ for next day delivery especially when I gotta go down to the clerks office...
I see a lot of arguments for buying at the small town store and I remain firm on the issue.
Lots of these local gun stores are demanding near msrp for these guns and honestly these prices are just made up as far as I'm concerned. Likewise there are hundreds of online stores, many of which have...
Hi,
In case anyone is following this thread, I've sold/traded the 629 to Karpteach! It was a hectic drive to long island but it was well worth it!
Thanks for your inquiries!

I really don't have any sympathy for many of these local gun stores anymore. The lengths some of them will go to try and convince me that their prices are great and that's the best price they can do and all this nonsense is just bad and its not fooling people like me. I'd like to preface this...
What I did was contact the forest ranger for that specific plot of forest. There isn't one ranger for the entirety of the Adirondack forest. I'm my case the ranger for the forest near me said it's a-OK so long as I clean up after myself, don't shoot trees, over rivers or trails, and made sure I...

Hi,
Gun: Smith and Wesson 629 classic in 44 mag 6.5"
Price: 675
Location: capital district
Will trade for a ruger gp100, 4"
I'm sick if scammers on armslist getting my hopes up over nonsense so I though I'd reach out to other venues like I should have before.
Here I have my Smith and...
So sorry to bring this up again. But what constitutes the "correct" ammunition? My 870 holds 7, normal size, 12g 2 3/4 inch shells, however if I choose to buy these 12g Aguila Minishells which are legal to buy, own and use, my 870 could suddenly hold way more than 7. The gun is NY compliant...
Trying to google these things is a little difficult as I get so many side topics that aren't exactly what I'm looking for and a lot of them are from california but apparently putting 9mm into glock 40 mags is the most well known one. Sure it might have some reliability issues because its...
Thats not what I was pointing out, it wasn't about having >10 round mags. It was about taking certain 10 round magazines that happen to fit other, smaller bullets that it wasn't designed for, artificially raising the limit on the mag's capacity.
I forgot about this exemption, thanks!
Thought of something stupid but maybe genius today, idk tell me what you think.
I got thinking about inter-compatible magazines between certain groups of firearms. For example a Glock magazine in 40S&W will also fit into the magazine well of another glock that may not be chambered in 40 S&W...
I think something like this might lead to making two trips. A trip to go buy it and get a receipt to take to the county then another trip to go pick it up, thats a lot of driving.
Maybe I'll just get both just for future reference.
Ok lemme start over. There is a pistol I want on gunbroker and its a lot cheaper than what I can find at a local gun store near me. I noticed that the seller is in NY and he is an FFL and his store's location is within driving distance from me (about 100 miles away or 30 dollars in gas...
The seller is an FFL himself, but I wanted to save on shipping and transfer fee by going to him myself. I wasn't cheating the system by somehow getting around the BGC or anything. There shouldn't be a transfer fee because its not some OTHER FFL doing a transfer as if I had it shipped there...
Hi,
I have a sort of idea to save me money on a pistol I want. It's on gunbroker but I want to avoid paying the transfer fee and shipping and all that garbage. The store that's selling it happens to be within driving distance of me. I did some napkin math and determined that I would save 200...
From the way one of the replies above reads, any issue with someone's license is a judge's call and after that it pretty much becomes an anecdote. I'll see if I can ask some police friends in town or maybe I'll call the county tomorrow and ask what becomes of it or is there a law they can cite...
I don't think its as simple as its made out. Sure there are no legal ramifications for not following the permit since there's no violation that can be, well, violated. However is there any legal precedent involving someone who violates the restrictions? Has anyone actually been arrested...
Well whether its semi or pump has nothing to do with it in this case. Why the police letter even points out the action in question is non-sequitur
The issue isn't necessarily with the law, its the cop thats going to in some scenario see your gun and arrest you for it. The ADA is going to jam...
What I did was just put drierite on the floor of my cabinet, any desiccant will work at absorbing the water in the air. Drierite turns pink when it's saturated
Well unlike California I can still get ammo to my house. Tons of companies are still sending ammo straight to your door including targetsportsusa.com, Brownell to a certain extent and a few others iirc
This probably won't happen then. I wont get a different caliber ar10 because I already have reloading dies for 308. I'm also not going to get an ar10 in 308 unless the m1a goes because then I'd have a redundant rifle
Hi,
So I was thinking maybe doing an ar10 build of some sort. Shooting for precision because it's either I embed my m1a stock or sell my m1a and put that money toward an ar10. I don't know what I could get for my m1a if I chose to sell it but basically it's an m1a standard with an arms #18...
Apparently there's gun stores in Connecticut selling these on the shelf. I wonder if I can get one to ship one in and an ffl that will transfer it to me
I'm not sure why they're making a rifle variant whose action isn't all that accurate for such a high performance oriented round. Even with the national match barrel, embedding and shit its not going to compete purely because of the way its designed. I only have an M1A because a NY compliant...
They probably want to re-certify because unlike the shitty assault weapons registration, the state and county already know you and your address and what pistols you have. Not re-certifying is a felony IIRC.
How does NYS even know if your pistol is overweight? Like what stops me or anyone from adding a pistol thats too heavy to own to my permit? What is the county clerk gonna do? google my gun then say "nah I can't add that"?
OK so I'm still confused on the use of "defective" as vernacular for describing your pistols. What does not killing with them have to do with the police knowing about it also what happens if you get your guns added to your permit but not telling the police about it?
