G26-IWB - StealthgearUSA - Onyx; Kydex/Mesh
G17-OWB - CompTac - Paddle Holster; Full Kydex
G21-OWB - CompTac - Paddle Holster; Full Kydex
I love all three holsters for retention, fit, and comfort.
They have some of the best customer service out there. The 2 times I've dealt with them (minor things), they were nothing but courteous, helpful and fast moving.
"The move sidelined Rich Bagger, a top ally of Mr. Christie’s who held that role for the last several months. Mr. Bagger couldn’t be reached for comment...."
Dick Bagger...come on, that's almost too good to be true.
Well, like Willi has above, I picked up a Fenix E05 2014 Ed. to go on my keychain. It's a great little light that runs off 1 AAA battery and is just barely bigger than the battery itself. Adds very little weight/size to my keychain and seems to be perfect for it's intended use. Max 85 lumens...
I love the core...has slowly become my favorite "gadget" type watch. But I definitely like that Seiko Prospex...solar is always a bonus and it's beefy.
My Fenix TK-15 flashlight is my overall favorite piece of gear...has been for a long time.
But I also love my Suunto Core...great for everything from hiking/camping to surfcasting to shooting. I love how it records changes in barometric pressure and has a "storm alert" warning, which happens...
Nope, you are correct with the spelling. It's a light I have thought about trying out, but I always seem to gravitate back to Fenix because of the good experiences I've had with them. Down here in the Met area, we have an outdoors store called REI...that's where I usually go to at least look at...
I've never owned one...but have read/heard very good things about them. They seem to be a VERY good bang for your buck in terms of cost to brightness levels. In particular, the Thrunite TN12 seems to be a great light for the price point.
Fenix really does make some quality lights and there are so many options. I forgot to add I have the PD22UE for my range bag. It's a bit smaller (perfect for a range bag) but really bright at 510 lumens max...just another option to look at. I've given 2 TK15's as gifts (1 to my brother-in-law...
A Fenix TK15 is my "go to" all around flashlight for inside the house, walking dog, camping, traveling, etc. It's my favorite light out of any I've ever had, including all of my old school Maglites (no comparison). I also have the massive Fenix TK70...which is as bright as the sun at 2200...
The strobe is more annoying to look into than the consistently bright setting, in a disorienting way, if that makes any sense. That said, I think either setting would be equally effective for any direct defensive purposes.
I agree on the speed loaders...why work your digits any harder than you have to? I have a buddy who insists on NOT using the uplula...signifies pussification among his coworkers or some such nonsense. I end up breaking his stones from the opposite direction because it takes him twice as long to...
I have two bags I use for camping...both from LL Bean. One of them I use for summer camping and is a goose down rectangular 40 degree bag, the other is a goose down mummy 0 degree bag for early spring and late fall camping. The mummy shape is nice to keep the warmth in, but a bit...
No problem, I'm always interested in seeing range reports and that was a nicely detailed one. I'm sure you've probably heard of "Dot Torture"...it's a neat target/drill for helping to shrink those groupings. I've used it more than a few times at different distances...and it usually kicks my ass...
Nice range report, Pod...I don't know how I missed it until now. That's a long time at the range...and a lot of spent brass, but good for you! A few more trips involving that much shooting and those groupings will shrink for sure. As far as the Uplula goes...it's priceless. It really pays off on...
For a good while, I contemplated getting either a G43 or G42 for summer carry. As much as I leaned towards staying in the 9mm family with the G43 (I already have the G26 and G17), I was drawn to the G42 being slightly smaller and supposedly an absolute pleasure to shoot. I still haven't gotten...
I have to disagree as well. When shooting my G21 along with various friend's 1911's (Kimbers, Springfield's, RIA, etc.) there are ALWAYS comments on how nice and light the G21 is compared to all others. And even with that overall lightness, it still has less perceived felt recoil to most...
What Willi said above hits the nail on the head. MyG21 handles the recoil better than my G26...it's a larger framed pistol. It also has more of a "heavy push" backwards opposed to any "snap" from 9mm or 40S&W.
I see you're in Orange Co. There is Gram's Arms in New City, Rockland Co. (GRAM'S Arms Inc New City NY - 845-789-2843)...ask for Vince. I have done an ammo transfer and bought a Ruger 10/22 thru him...very fair prices. When I told him I owned 3 Glocks, he said if I ever wanted to purchase...
Thanks Pod! Everything you said makes perfect sense, and I'm just going to have to play around with it a bit to get comfortable.....carefully ;) I did adjust the torx screw slightly, and it seems to be easier to control. Thanks for the suggestion on the Mini Grip...I like it a lot.
Hahaha, I hear ya! It was bleeding the entire trip home...and every time I saw it, I kept thinking "idiot".
Quick question Pod...part of the reason I cut myself, was because once I unlocked the axis lock and flipped the blade back into the grip, it REALLY shot back fast...almost like it was...
By the way, they had one of the Benchmade Bushcrafter fixed blades at the store and I was able to hold it. What a great knife...it felt perfectly balanced in my hand. If I was in the market for a new camping/fishing knife...this would be it. Beautiful sheath that comes with it too...
Well, I pulled the plug on a Mini Grip this afternoon. I went to a local REI, where I had some dividend money stored away. I ended up getting the basic black 154cm for about $70 after the dividend cash-in. I love the knife...it fits perfectly clipped in my pocket. It's a nice change from the...
Thanks for the replies! I'm definitely leaning towards the Mini Grip...but hover back to the large Grip, lol...cant make up my mind if I want a smaller knife. It makes sense to go with smaller version considering my other 2 knives are larger...but I seem to go back to the larger handle for...
I'm thinking about adding a new blade to my EDC rotation...I currently switch between a Kershaw Blur and a BM Emissary (large). I'm looking to add something for the weekends as kind of a "beat on" blade, if that makes any sense. I was thinking along the lines of a Sog Flash II, a Griptillian, or...
Don't forget to check the Wilderness Belts. Some different options to choose from on the site...including how to measure yourself to ensure the correct sizing. I love the Original Instructor's Belt...it just flat out works with the reinforcement and strong velcro with an awesome V-clip buckle...
Obviously it's completely up to you, but I say keep both. I have a Glock 17 and 26 for range/carry and a Glock 21 for my bedside gun. I love shooting both calibers, so I don't see myself consolidating to just 9mm.
My first night on here...and I have to say, seeing this guy appear here (after having not been on the other place for sometime) and seeing the responses, made me literally lol.
