Mailed mine the afternoon of 12/17/21. It's ridiculous that in a "pro-2a" county we can't go in person and get our amendment to the on the spot like some other counties but I'm hoping for only a 3 week wait.
I believe Orange County should be green. My wife and I both received our unrestricted right off the bat and of the dozen or so people we know that have their CCW here only one has any restrictions and he was pretty young when he got his CCW. I even had some arrests from when I was a kid (things...
It definitely sounds like it was implemented poorly. Hopefully they can sort it out. Maybe a letter or email to our respective issuing judges voicing our support for streamlining it would be a good idea?
I'm definitely not bashing her, she has our best interests at heart and is a great lady. She's actually a neighbor of mine and I've met her quite a few times. Hopefully she can find a workaround for this. It sounds like you all let her know other counties do it differently and better.
So it sounds like it was a "pass the buck" session when it cane to the unacceptable time we wait for an amendment. I'm going to send Annie an email asking why our system can't work like other counties that hand out a voucher or that allow the pistol office to look at your paperwork, stamp it...
THIS, THIS SO MUCH THIS!! They're running for re-election and now is the time to mail, email, call, or otherwise generally remind them we are gun owners and we vote. This entire process in this county is ridiculous. After jumping through all sorts of hoops and passing a rigorous background check...
Yeah, i was expecting the worst but the recent posts gave me hope. I'm going down to Ocean City, MD for the car show this weekend but I can't carry there anyway so I'll probably go get it Sunday or Monday. Got too much to do before I leave Thursday.
I stopped in Gander today. No great deals on any gun stuff. Only 5% off on guns and no discount on ammo. LOL. It only confirms my thoughts on what they're going under. Anyway, the answer I got to the question about what's going to happen with those of us waiting on amendment papers to pick up a...
That's good to hear. Hopefully the wait continues to decrease. I sent mine in a couple of days after you. Maybe it'll turn up tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.
Still waiting. I've got to go up to Gander in Middletown, burn a rewards certificate I got, and find out what is going to happen they close before my amendment arrives.
Mailed mine out on April 20th. Thought I already posted here. Glad I stopped in, didn't see that article until now. This system is absolutely unacceptable. I'll be emailing Neuhaus about it.
I stand corrected. It took Judge Freehill until March 31st to sign it so it took a long time all the way around. I'm probably going to pick up this gun tomorrow evening and while I'm there I might take advantage of the rebate Smith and Wesson has on the Shield right now rather than dump any...
Only our clueless governor would show up to a eco-friendly car event in this.

Amendment showed up Friday. Hoping to run up there tonight or tomorrow. I believe the judge signed it in late March (maybe the 25th). The rest of the time it was at the clerk's office. :(
Thanks for the heads up. I should've thought of that. Got a couple off the list I need to call. Hopefully the prices listed are still accurate on some because the one I used last time went up $10 and it doesn't reflect that change on Bud's site.
Thinking about ordering a pistol online and having shipped to a local FFL. I'm in the Orange/Rockland area and some places are outrageous on their transfer fees so I don't mind driving a little to get a deal. Anybody have suggestion? Maybe there's a member here that hooks fellow members up?
Honestly, I got there a little late but it was more or less a how-to on filling out the online forms. At the end the troopers took some questions including the old 7 or 10 round deal. They said the NYSP is sticking to the 10 round limit and the sheriff chimed in that they are doing the same and...
Ridiculous. It sounds like some of the workload for this recertification BS is falling on the county clerk's office pistol unit employees. I was at the informational meeting that the OCSO put on tonight and Sheriff DuBois said he actually put 3 part time investigators from his office to work in...
It's at 630 to 830 on Wednesday. Other counties allow the clerks to sign off. I don't see why it can't be done here. Hell, hand out a voucher like other counties do and we can return in a timely fashion after we bought our gun and brought it home. We already go through an extensive background...
Anyone else going to the CCW license renewal informational meeting on Wednesday evening at the OCSO? Maybe that'd be a good time to ask if there is a way to shorten the wait for these amendments.
Eddie and Kev, who was your issuing judge?
I totally agree with you Will. I know a lot of people are saying "all or nothing" but I don't see that ever happening. Its a good first step towards full repeal. Apologies to those members that live there but if the people of NYC want to elect these anti-2A libtard politicians then let them deal...
Assemblyman Brian Kavanagh, D-Manhattan:
"New York City residents would not be safer by allowing gun sales with no background checks in Westchester County, just across the border from the Bronx."
This guy has no fucking idea how gun sales in NY worked before the unSAFE Act. Idiot.
When it gets to me I'll have little choice but to register. However, rushing right out to submit and make their job easier is not how it's going to happen. With any luck I'll be out of this state by then.
Yeah. Either way I think it's my last purchase here anyway. I'm going to start going to the locally owned places. ;) Fortunately it went smooth this time.
Received latest blue cards. Mailed them in on the morning of December 15th, arrived January 11th. Hopefully the holidays were the reason for it taking nearly 4 weeks and its not the new norm. Judge Freehill signed it on January 3rd.
Great article. Especially the part about not being a gun snob. We're all in this battle for our 2A Rights. Alienating someone for what gun they have only serves to divide us and help our opponents win.
Bought 6 boxes and they took my coupon so I walked out with 300 rounds for $54. Might go get some more tomorrow. Only license they asked for was my driver's license.
