You press the detent plunger and your release button at the same time to get the mag catch passed through while the detent plunger locks the mag catch on the outside. Then reverse the installation process. This video shows the removal and reinstallation process twice:

Addressing the double feed with an FC Hook: use a PMAG! If a double feed occurres: put on the safety; remove the PMAGs floor plate; drop the spring, follower and cartriges. Then use a tool to reach up there and clear any cartridge that has not dislodged by removing the magazine parts.
