If there are improvements then maybe. The old design is around 60 years old at this point and theres always room for improvement in anything over such a long time. I would hope that they arent simply cutting corners in a way that wouldnt have been accepted when the originals were designed.
I just dont see the udefulness of a substandard fake that has a good chance of failing when you need it

My advice would be to not rely on a plastic ammo can. They dont stand up to the abuse of the metal cans. If you need a smaller can get a small 30 caliber can instead of the 50 caliber can
Are you getting the 4" or the 6" model? The packaging can be a little robust, for sure, but if you're tight on space then the smaller 4 inch model might still work for you. Or, as an alternative, try to find some of the older combat dressings. Very compact compared to an Israeli, and should...
Yeah I realize that anyone with a well will have a much easier go at it. I have a well myself, and a high enough water table that water will never be a problem for me. That tin can suggestion will take a long time to get any amount of water. I recall seeing one way to collect water from a well...
Our local gun club forwarded the members a copy of the form that ammo buyers are being asked to fill out.
Ironically, while NYS is replacing NICS for the background check, the form requests that you include a NICS UPIN number if you have one.
If you guys have never had giardia, I wouldnt wish it on anyone. The last thing you'll need in a grid-down scenario is something like that, or dysentery. That killed a LOT of people in the pre-industrial age. Pretty easy for us to forget stuff like that when we can turn the tap and out comes...
Every other person thinks they're going to hunt their way to survival. It took the wildlife population decades to rebound from the Depression. The average US household has two weeks worth of food on its shelves. Thats everything from the microwave popcorn to the condiments next to the stove...
I've had one for about ten years and only used it once or twice. Personally I think given the modern options you're better off using a Sawyer Squeeze on conjunction with Aqua Mira that'll kill the stuff that might slip past the Sawyer.
Cameras are so cheap now that everyone should be installing at least a basic system. If something happens on your property, nothing advocates for you like video; juries love pictures, especially good quality pictures that move and identifies the bad guy to them. I built my system up over time...
I remember when hunting season was a much shorter block of time, a month or so for archery and a month for gun season. Now we have an unrelenting block of time from October 1st ( earlier in the western part of the state ) through the end of January, where access to the publicly owned woodlands...
If government at all levels is operating at 10% of normal, DEC most likely has stopped operating as a functional agency. As has every other law enforcement agency,. You might, MIGHT still have some few personnel for any given agency operating in emergency mode, but it would be more like the old...
Flipping through a book is different than sitting there and reading the content. Seriously, you can't see the difference?
You think that some future customer wants to pay full price for the dog eared copy of the magazine you sat and read?
I'm sure that illegal immigrants are part of the numbers, but there's also legal immigration. When it comes to population numbers they're lumped together.
My understanding was that the last census showed us barely in the black on terms of population gain. Other states showed larger gains, so...
Maybe those recalls are happening because a problem is identified, where the"people farmers" aren't identifying the problem. Are the "people farmers" selling their product to the general public or just consuming it themselves?
I was referring to population
She's encouraging people who have opposing political views to leave the state. They're already leaving, and the only reason we didn't show a population loss in the last census was because of immigration
I see that she left gun rights off her list
Anyone who can afford to is abandoning New York. She's also ignoring that. The only reason NYS is in the black for population gain/ loss is due to immigration
Most states display the full legal name on their driver's license. New York has for years let people carry drivers licenses that in some cases have only a first and middle initial.
I don't know why so many of you are objecting to bringing in a combination of documents to meet the requirements...
They haven't updated the fine print on the 4473.
Like I said, the FFL should contact their regular inspector for guidance if they are unsure on current policy
The birth certificate with the full legal name is used as supplemental id in conjunction with the photo id
The reason that mom and pop places aren't requiring it is they aren't up to speed on requirements and need to call their regular inspector for guidance if they aren't sure on the requirement
Your FFL is not up to date on the current rules. He'll most likely hear from the ATF inspector the next time they come to visit. This is part of the Real ID requirements that went into effect over a year ago
Thats true as well. They think that we haven't been caught yet
Its an interesting look into someones mindset when they assume that everyone is some sort of criminal
Well, you'll either be limited to that or asking sales staff to open the locked cabinet some stores may utilize. NYS thinks thst gang bangers are stealing their ammo from retail stores.
Thats the one thats driving me out of business No way to distance customers from the ammo on the shelf.
Next up is the ammo background check and ammo tax
As I said elsewhere, if Joe thinks that 9 x 19 MM is too powerful, by extension he'll think the same of any caliber larger than 9 MM.
This is an underhanded way of saying that he wants to limit us to rimfire ammo only
Considering that the design was originally pitched to the military as a survival rifle for pilots, that would be simply going back to its roots. A civilian survival role would free the user from using military ball ammo and carrying something a little more effective for survival purposes.
I believe that the language wasn't limited to unfinished receivers and included finished receivers. I'll have to reread it in the morning again when I have more than my phone
