Russian Expert: The U.S. Can’t Afford New 6.8-mm Rifle Ammo

It's not just the manufacturing costs of the ammunition itself, its new rifles, nee machineguns, new magazines, new sights, new training doctrine. It is a huge logistical undertaking and any new rounds must be a substantial improvement in capability to he worth it. The .276 Pederson was the...

Russian Expert: The U.S. Can’t Afford New 6.8-mm Rifle Ammo

Why does anything have to be done? The current cartridges in service are sufficient. The shortcomings of the 5.56 were ameliorated with the M262 and M855A1 loads.

Let's talk about Load Bearing Equipment

It has two small velcro areas that are on either side of the PALS webbing but I think that is more for patches. However there are MOLLE compatible shotshell cards and there are also velcro cards that you can attach to the webbing as well. You can actually get the INVRT slick of you want and...

What Is a 'Well Regulated Militia,' Anyway?

The Militia and the "Armed Citizenry" are one and the same. The implications of the Second Amendment are not a privilege nor a right. It is an obligation to duty. Ownership of arms, and gaining proficiency thereof is a moral imperative. It is unethical for the able bodied and conscientious...

What Is a 'Well Regulated Militia,' Anyway?

The Milita, as mentioned, are the people of the Nation. Every American citizen is a member of the Militia. That is why the Second Amendment exists after all, to codify into law the means of the people to carry out the duties of the Citizen's Militia. That was the intent anyway, the will of...

It's a basic setup, I think it would work really well for anybody. Excepting the professional that needs more........ stuff. I have the LaRue trigger on the other rifle, the green scoped one. I am really happy with that trigger and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks again for...

Let's talk about Load Bearing Equipment

The pouches are elastic, retention is very strong, Tgey can't be shaken or jarred out. There are bungee pull tabs that I haven't installed, I want to see if the pouch retention is good enough to not have to bother with them. Having the pouches inverted like that makes reloads very easy and...

    Which Glock to buy

I'll take the 20 over the 40. The 20 actually seems like a useful pistol whereas the 40 just seems like an exercise in overcompensation. P.S. @Kirk_STNY, if you do really prefer a 17 consider getting the non MOS model. While getting the slide custom milled for the specific model of red dot...

    Which Glock to buy

Why must it be full size? Are you licensed to carry? In NYS I would pick the G48 if there were ever a chance you might want to carry it. There is no difference in handling or performance between the full size Glocks and the "compact" Glocks. If you wanted it specifically and only for...

"The Holodomor - The Communist's Holocaust" - Are Deplorables the New "Kulaks"?

When it comes to combating communism (and socialism is the same thing) the stakes are such that any and all tactics and strategies are neccessary and ethical. We must push back against the left. No mercy, no compunction, no restraint. We must unburden ourselves of false morality and turn the...

Which one? I have shot a fair bit of the Winchester 9mm NATO in the past, mostly for use in classes and training since it closely approximates the recoil of my +P carry load. I like it fine, goes bang no issues ever, motivates steel plates better than typical 115gr range loads. Can't comment...

M14 abandoned? Whose got a CNC Machine?

Some of your points are based on fallacies. The lingering reputation of the supposed problems with the M16/AR15 are leftovers from the disastrous introduction of the M16 in Vietnam. These were caused by a change in the powder spec from what the M16 was originally designed for which and by some...

M14 abandoned? Whose got a CNC Machine?

The M14 was an old school rifle adopted in a new school age. It is a heavy design with an open action susceptible to ingress of dirt, mud and debris. It is expensive to produce. For maximum precision the action must be bedded into the stock and that bedding wears out under recoil and...

    Glock is evil, damn!

Well I always was prejudiced about the Glock grip angle myself. However my primary basis of comparison for the Glock 19 is the Walther PPQ which I have owned for more than 2 years now and I have well over 5k rounds through it. I like the Glock 19 better and the PPQ is supposed to be the best...

That was just a convenient pic I found. Looks like all the Gen 5s with the forward serrations also lack the grip cutout. Perhaps, however I am considering the P365 XL which slots neatly between the Shield and the 19. Also, not for nothing but I just really like the Shield besides. It has a...

I used to be that way for many years until very recently. Then I I bought a Gen 5 19 and discovered I can shoot Glocks better than any other pistol I have tried. Go figure, what can you do? I CC my 19 a lot also but since switching jobs that allows me to carry at work now I find myself...

    How loud is 357 sig?

It is a louder than average pistol cartridge. It operates at a very high pressure, 40,000 psi per SAAMI spec and it seems very apparent whenever someone is shooting one nearby. Outdoors it doesn't rise to the level of being obnoxious. Indoors it might.

    What is your favorite firearm?

Hmmnnn, I'd go with the .380 Seecamp. Excellent craftsmanship but a little brutal beast of a pistol to shoot. One magazine and my trigger and middle fingers were bleeding from the trigger guard snapping into them under recoil.

    What is your favorite firearm?

Probably still have to say: It's not quite as precise or nearly as light as my ARs And it destroys brass as it ejects it all over the place but it is a complete riot to shoot and despite the weight it's a handy carbine in actual use. Also the softest shooting .308 I have ever fired. And it's...
