Help with fair value (Ruger M77)

I missed the "Someone I know WANTS it." part. My apologies. that changes things, and its worth whatever they WANT to pay. My explanation, which I hesitate to give, is twofold. It may be a very attractive package for someone that wants something the want to call a target rifle, and go out and...

Help with fair value (Ruger M77)

If you really want maximum $ for it, you should separate the scope and rifle, sell independently. Its realistically a $800-900 rifle off of Gunbroker, maybe $300 on the scope, off Gunbroker. I would not think it's a very attractive combo.

Does this exist? (my perfect carry pistol)

The G43X/G48 are as close to ideal in NY as there is, IMO. Quality, trusted design, excellent size grip and slim width with your choice of length, light, 10rd capacity by design so you don't have the bad feels carrying a 15rd gun w/ 10rds in it. Screw the traditional da autos, if your reasoning...

    Rifle Research

In 20 years or so of being pretty active in the local scene, I haven’t heard any issue with factory Howa rifles or barreled actions. I wonder is any of those issues you mentioned had anything to do with the disassembly and rebarrelling operation of a Howa 1500/Vanguard? I’ve heard rumblings of...

    Rifle Research

I"d have to disagree with the Howa being weak in any significant way. But the rest of your suggestions are spot on. I would put the Bergara above all the others as you mentioned as far as value for the dollar.

SCR Lower Transferred As Other Or Rifle?

In this instance, what difference does it make if your are handed this firearm listed as receiver, or this firearm listed as rifle? The only time it would matter is if you were aged 18-20.

SCR Lower Transferred As Other Or Rifle?

It's not. It is a receiver. It will be written on the front of 4473 as "Receiver" and the box checked on the second page will be Other. I don't know what is so hard to understand here.

    Ammunition found locally today

NY Shooter Supply in Albany is supposed to have a ton of 9mm available for sale Saturday morning along with some Mossberg Shockwaves. 5.56mm and .223 has still been in stock most days.

newbee whats a good powder for 223?

Powder choices I've made for 68gr-77gr 5.56mm Max Pressure loads have been Tac, A2520, AR Comp (always out of stock when I wanted it), N540, Power Pro Varmint, Leverevolution and others I've forgotten. Some have worked better than others. I really lean toward a Western Powders product whenever...

    Ammunition found locally today

Below most other shops in the area. .65/round for american made 5.56mm. I'm told that wholesale price went up another .10 a round a few days ago. So watch for prices to climb even farther.

NY Shooter Supply in Albany had a couple thousand rounds of 5.56 and 223 left. No limits. Tons of 308 and 7.62x51.

    Ammunition found locally today

NY Shooter Supply in Albany today had a good amount of all rimfire calibers, plenty of .223 & 5.56, 9mm and just about everything else. Lots of powder and projectiles, some primers. Always well stocked in ammo and reloading components.

    Under 1k AR market gone?

Holster for leggings......for my wife, not me

Do a contact form to Chris @ Green Force Tactical, or better yet get on their facebook group and ask. Lots of people use their different iwb holsters with ulticlips. They do it right.

    Glock vs competitor reliability

BUL does a great job with these frames. They have been making them for a while and they know what they are doing. It's too bad this youtuber didn't do a better job reviewing it. Has an air of slight incompetence. They are a better gun than most people will give them credit for, and a bargain in...

    Suggest A Good Ar-15 Scope

I bought the athlon Midas tac 1-6x for an 18” .223 upper. Seems to be a great optic and the reticle is nice for close up, to a few hundred yards, IMO. It’s supposed to be set up for 68-69gr bullets, which thankfully shoot superb out of it.

    Holster Experts Needed

Clip type IWB holsters suck. Soft loops are the ticket. For a small, short barrelled pistol, I really like NSR Tactical C-2. Otherwise Green Force Tactical's Custom IWB is a hit. Both with soft loops.

    Pistol purchase for second residence

If your FFL has a gunsmith license as well, which they should, they also have a separate gunsmith log book. No guns coming out of that need 4473. If your dealer is putting the gun in question into their "bound book" of firearms transactions, then it would need a 4473.

    .223 through.556

Never thought of that. I'm gonna try that on someone. "Hey, new guy, find me a box of .223 Wylde for this rifle!" Kinda like making the new auto tech find the canuder valve or the sphincterknuckle on a car.

    Don’t Write Off the .380

Poor wording. It is remotely possible to draw from a POCKET holster while seated. While possible, it is unlikely that you won't already have lost that fight by the time it's out IMO.

Maybe Vedder is Better. G19 IWB

I don't know what quality kydex maker does a holster for that pistol, but green force tactical does offer their "custom iwb", or any of their models, for the ruger SR pistols. My G48 carries better in that holster than anything in a hybrid ever has. Excellent quality and design.

    Improper method of concealed carry?

Much like you, I was going to stay out of it.... BUT, in addition to the quality belt recommendation I can say undoubtedly this: The OP can definitely carry IWB with a GOOD holster. My body is less so suited to it and with the proper equipment and willpower, you can carry IWB, get a proper...

50 & 100 Meter Zeroing trade offs for average medium HD distances on 5.56 systems

Really, Shawn's video illustrates it clearly. The new Glock G44 announcement (merged thread)

Beretta Tomcat .32 acp.. anyone familiar?

Yeah,, gotta keep working with them. I believe I made huge gains in shooting tiny pistols by shooting DA revolvers heavily, and accurately for a couple years. The P32 is/was one of my favorite tiny pistols. I bought mine new around 04 or so, and carried it in my pocket on and off till a few...

    FFL's doing ATF 4473 wrong

Yes, they are especially stupid. I would not worry about it, but I would also correct them on the mistakes. Chances are, they have been recording things wrong for so long, they aren't going to believe you.

    Honest opinions (Anderson AR15)

Yes to the poverty pony. But that doesn't necessarily make for a bad rifle. Over the last 15 years, bottom of the line priced rifles have seemingly crept closer to mid level offerings in quality.

Help me... 9 mm vs 45 ACP

I'll bite again... We all know (should know) that real rifle rounds work, and handgun rounds (even out of a rifle barrel) generally suck. But momentum, tied to bullet construction, from your specific handgun at terminal distance has everything to do with wounding when you don't (won't) know...
