I have a great-nephew moving back to NY from CO. He intends to settle in the county and wants to get his permit.
Any information anyone can share on the ease / difficulty or any "how to's" unique to Rensselaer county that I can pass along would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
Was given a couple dozen rounds of this buckshot - loose, no box. Looking on the Federal website and various other places I find nothing that looks like this.
Note what appears to be some sort of sealant on the primer and the rolled crimp & overshot card (?) instead of the typical folded...
Need about 3,000 pieces of 9mm brass and about 1,000 pieces of .38 Spl. to get me through the winter reloading season. Can be brass or nickle plated, cleaned or not. Not split, blown out, crushed, steel, aluminum please.

Anybody a member of the Trenton Fish & Game club up Holland Patent way? Got a couple questions if someone is familiar with their pistol shooting events and ranges.
Thanks
Had a small (8") cherry tree come down that I have been cutting up for firewood. It has a burl that is about 15" in diameter.
Rather than burn it I would prefer to give it to someone who could do something with it. I have seen some amazing wood crafts made out of burls.
If you want it shoot...

I'm just spitballing an idea here and am not having a lot of luck finding an answer online to part of it.
I'm thinking of a flat-top 7.62 x 39 upper with 18" - 20" barrel = probably crowned, definitely no flash hider - keeping it "compliant".
I'm not seeing anything like this listed with any...
Keying off this thread Stop the Bleed - free seminar at Paladin Center, Carmel, NY - 11/01/17 I thought I would put some questions out there.
Do you have a trauma kit? (being defined as something used to stop the bleeding from a "serious" wound ie. gunshot, knife wound - something more than a...
Does anyone have contact information for the Lieutenant that heads the NYSP Pistol Permit Bureau?
Email address preferably but I will take a phone number if that is all you have.
I know I have seen it published somewhere but damned if I can find it. I assume a FFL / NYS dealer would have it. I...
ATLANTA, Georgia --
Police say a boy found a gun in a dressing room at an Atlanta mall and it fired when the mother pulled the trigger to see if it was real.

What are the strangest, stupidest, goofiest things you know of that caused someone to be disqualified from a competitive match? I'll start with one, sorry for the length.
I didn't actually see this - I was on the arbitration committee after the shooter appealed his DQ.
This was a national...

It has been a lot of years since I shot a match at this club. I tried to shoot one of their Steel Challenge matches last year but, unfortunately, the match got cancelled due to a scheduling conflict.
Last Saturday there were no conflicts and they put on a great match. A new bunch of guys have...
I don't know how many of you have been watching the Son on AMC. It's a pretty interesting show so far starring Pierce Brosnan as Eli McCullough and is set in two time periods --- Eli in 1915 as the patriarch of a cattle ranching family in South Texas and Eli in 1849 as a teenager captured by the...
For those of you who have already received a pistol permit recertification notice in the mail --- did the envelope it came in have "Do Not Forward" on it?
