I load Laupua for the wildcat 243 LBC. It is top notch brass but it's costly and that's the only caliber I buy it for. Being it's a wildcat, one pushes the envelope a bit with pressures so the Lapua brass tends to have better case life than other brands.

The 450 Bushmaster is a great brush cartridge. I've killed a few deer with one out of an AR-15. I would not choose it for anything much beyond 150 yds. There's just better rounds for that. So between the two choices you've given, I'd choose the '06 for reaching out there.
Dan
I have a Bushmaster factory 450 upper and run a rifle stock and buffer without issue.
I recommend going of the forum "450Bushmaster.net" and ask the experts.
Someone will there will figure it out.

Thanks, I had a 243 WIn many years ago that I sadly let go. It always dropped deer in their tracks. When I read about the 243 LBC, the idea of having near 243 Win performance in an AR15 intrigued me. I was using a 90 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip @ 2900 fps out of a 22" barrel. That's pretty solid...
Down here, there's no one pushing them like decades ago. My buddies and I hear very few shots opening day. The buck in the photo wasn't scared in the least. I sit on a boulder, chair height. He didn't care.
Dan
I've been hunting with an AR15 for 3 years now. The last two years with a 450 Bushmaster. I always make sure to post a picture of the deer with an AR15 laying across it on Face Book , just to prove the AR15 critics wrong.
Shot this 8 pointer in Orange County around 8:45 AM yesterday morning.
The rifle is chambered in 243 LBC. Weighs 8 1/2 lbs as pictured. Fixed magazine of course.
243 LBC. It has a stiff 22" Black Hole Weaponry barrel of their standard contour. The goal was to build the rifle to be at or about 8 lbs. As pictured it's 8 lbs 2.8 oz.

I have an upper that was built by JSE. It has an 18" bull barrel made by Wilson. That barrel takes forever to heat up and with select handloads or Federal Match ammo will keep 10 rounds in an inch square at 100 yds. Crap ammo still groups...well, like crap.
Dan
I've got an Odin clamp on adjustable gas block on the way this week. I'll be building a 243 LBC this year and it seems that an adjustable gas block is recommended for this wildcat.
Dan
The target was 100 yards. That was the sight in with Hornaday Black 250 grain.
The doe in the photo was 2017 and was about 12 feet. I shot 3 deer this year with the Thumper. A buck at about 80 or 90 yards and two doe at about 50 or 60. 2 deer ran and one was DRT.
That AR-15 is a fixed...
The Walther PPS is great to carry and very concealable. I have a 6 rnd magazine in the pistol with 1 in the chamber and two 7 rnd magazines for reloads.
Dan
In my opinion...individual states will be more apt to have some type of legislation passed over this mass shooting, restricting magazines, semi-autos etc. Someone previously mentioned SAFE Act II...I bet they're already discussing it in Albany right now.
But I think this instance will be enough...
I bought a Winco 9000 Tri-fuel Generator off of Craigslist the year after Sandy. It was brand new in the crate, never used. The woman had it since the Millennium scare in the year 2000. Sat in the woman's garage through two long power outages while her husband was away. She sold it to me for...
Both great Generals but didn't have the calling. Jim Webb was in close combat and wounded. Played hot potato with grenades if I remember correctly. Saved other Marines lives. That's Bad Ass. He's also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Not a "Big City" democrat.
Dan
We had a chance to have a real badass president. He was a democrat named James Webb. A highly decorated Viet Nam, Marine combat Veteran and former Secretary of the Navy. But he's a moderate and the democrats only want the most progressive as the republicans only want the most conservative...
The Walther PPQ is supposed to be Phenomenal. Walther is offering a $100 rebate on the PPQ and PPS right now. I have a S&W 99OL in 45 Auto which was the American version of the Walther P99. I like it a lot for a full size pistol. If I were replacing it I'd jump on the PPQ.
Dan
If I pocket carry it's with a Colt Detective Special. I have some old Federal Nyclad rounds for it. I don't put it in a holster this way I can shoot through the pocket of my jacket if I have to. If it was printing, I'd fold a take out menu and line my pocket with it. Kind of a summertime thing...
I've got the PPS M2 in 9mm. Just got it a coupla weeks ago. So far I'm very happy with it. I chose it over the Shield. Glock wasn't a consideration.
Dan
I'd look for a S&W Bodyguard Airweight for 38 Special or a Colt Detective Special...the latter you should be able to carry 38 Special +P.
Used of course.

I believe the EMP is the threat that concerns our government about North Korea. Lil' Kim did have a successful "satellite" launch a few months back. That missile with a nuclear warhead could put large sections of our country back into the stone age if it shuts down some of the grids.

My agency changed handguns three times in my career. We had to learn to become proficient with what we were issued. So to me it was a matter of overall cost for upgrades on the Shield. I figure I could adapt if the price were right. I must say that the Shield felt pretty good in my hand, no...
By the time one purchases an Apex kit and other upgrades one could get a Walther PPS M2. I agonized over this for a week or two and just went with the PPS instead of the Shield. If the Shield is good enough out of the box than it's advantage Shield. A good value with the rebate, but not if one...
I have a Weaver Classic K6 and a Grand Slam 2-8x36. Both are great scopes. I think the Grand Slams are priced a little high compared to the completion but if one searches hard enough and is patient one can sometimes find an excellent deal.
Dan
Just a suggestion...if you go with a Thordsen stock, consider getting a 45 degree ambi safety like the Talon and an extended magazine release. Ergonomically those controls work much better with the Thordsen. Worthwhile upgrades in my opinion.
Dan
Ordered a Walther PPS M2 9mm online. I figured I wouldn't ever need an APEX trigger kit with the Walther so that justified it for me over the Shield.
$359 + free shipping.

It works. I built mine around 20 years ago. The lumber was salvaged from an old sundeck. I bought the plywood.
I used leftover paint to make the salvaged wood look presentable. Then I put a few coats of polyurethane over it.
If you build it, make the bench top overhang come out more. I find...
You have to hand it to the Machiavellian in Chief. Trump tweets that Obama is wiretapping. Napolitano publically states that it's true and claims he has sources, in order to give Trump some political cover.
When the heat starts to get too hot for Trump over the matter, Trump quotes Napolitano...
I just built a whole 'nother rifle in 450 Bushmaster. I'm waiting for some of the snow to melt so I can sight it in.
Should be cheaper than a Beowulf, inherently accurate and not too many in NY have one. Bad thing is ...try and find the ammo locally.

Annie Rabbit's husband died Feb 26th. I don't know if that contributed to even slower service in Orange County. I imagine she's been taking a lot of personal time. She was married for a long time.
We spend more money on keeping Banana Republic dictators flush with whores and military equipment than we do on the arts. One can always turn the radio off if the program gets politically offensive. I've done it. I believe it's important for our nation to support the arts even when most of the...
PPQ but only if it's an M1 with the magazine release on the sides of the trigger guard. Once you get use to those there's nothing like them.
A sweep of the trigger finger gets the job done while maintaining sights on target.
I have a S&W 99OL that has a frame made by Walther and I love those...
I would rather have the government continue to fund the arts and NPR than big agriculture. Growing grain for fuel. We waste much more money on those subsidies than the arts. I don't need to agree with the political commentary to be able to enjoy some of the other programming. I will say when...
