I've seen that in a recent box of .17hmr (1/50), I had 5/50 indented(they called it a plate shift) and I've had aluminum cased 40 s&w snap in half after firing once. I wish I could find the pics of the 40 case cause it snapped horizontal NOT vertically down the case, really weird.
I have three so far and I like them. Smaller than they look in the pictures but surprisingly hold alot. One is filled with long term food items(about a weeks worth). Second is being made into a survival box(food, ammo, medical). Third is random ammo box.

Both me(used) & my friends(brand new) 93 17hmr has loose fitting oem mags as well. I think its just the way they pump 'em out. I bought mine used so kinda knew about the mag problem with 17hmr so bent the shit out of the mag once I got it- no problems since then.

The survival bars are only good for 5 years and definitely try them before storing them. I got one a week ago, the UTS (?) emergency food ration, and tried it out. If robitussin made a cookie it would taste like that ration.
I wanna say the stock is somewhere between fiberglass and a hard plastic. Definitely not any kind of rubber or soft material. Also what ever its made of is black through and through.
As to whats wrong with it... to me it looks very dull in some areas more than others and 'weathered' all over...
Looking for any tips or tricks to cleaning or restoring a synthetic stock. Its a ruger pc-40 stock (black) that was issued to a police department.
