Looks like that policy change was in 2019 to refrain from open carry, but they do not have any restrictions on permit holders concealing.

I think the likely scenario is most of us looking to get the required training will not be able do so in time and there is safety in numbers. Hopefully this terribly thought out scheme will collapse due to its own weight. This doesn’t even take into account people looking to get new permits...

That last sentence (ii) seems to be in contradiction with the other part of this messy legislation. Maybe this was what the Trooper was referring to when I called regarding getting recertified before this garbage starts the clock and he mentioned that we were not required to take the training?

Pushing the deadline to April 2024 for those of us that need to recertify within a year. I guess the more time the better, but I have been communicating with Saratoga's sheriff department and I told them they better have a system in place for the backlog of permit holders if this sticks.

That is my understanding. The problem will be most that need to recertify will not be able to get the training in time... Myself included.

I wish the system would let me. I filled out the form and mailed it in with the hope they they will do it on their end.

I already tried online and it tells me that I am not eligible until November of next year. I also called the phone number to ask about being able to re-certify early using the paper forms and the officer informed me that the training doesn't apply to existing permit holders. I have no idea what...
