You can use one off a 995 if you either bypass the lever of the bolt release OR you machine out the slot for the bolt release lever: Trigger Guard, Stripped 995SS, 70PSS MARLIN / GLENFIELD
I do not know how they would enforce this. I'm not required to ask for ID for ammunition purchases unless I believe they are not of age to legally buy it. But this is how NY works, they use the force of the attorney general of NY to THREATEN gun dealers of lawsuits knowing most cannot afford the...
Can't blame them. Most people in NY do not have a pistol permit. Why bother stocking rifles that you cannot sell? I used to stock a bunch of NY compliant semi-auto rifles and sell a ton of them but after the new law, sales plummeted so I only stock a few.
You can freely buy ammo in PA. There is no law stating you can't. Come down and buy all that you want. No troopers are at the border looking for people who are buying their ammo in PA.
I saw the writing on the wall years ago with NY gun laws and how NY does what it pleases and opened my business in a gun friendly state. I have no idea how dealers in NY can make any money being a FFL. Fighting it is a waste of time and money. I hope you can relocate to a state that is gun...
I cannot keep ammo on the shelves fast enough. With the Hornady primer factory explosion and a Czech billionaire buying up CCI & Federal ammo, we are going to have a shortage again not to mention we are giving arms to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Better stock up now and do not repeat what...
I already had a customer tell me that he purchased a rifle and passed and then got denied for the ammo and he has a NY pistol permit. These people are grade A clowns.
I do not have any experience with this tool but I do use many of their other tools and they have been great. This vice is very handy but if you plan on doing any hammering or torquing, just get a quality bench vice and get some soft jaws for it or use wood. They are handy but I doubt when you...
A lot of the "veterans" are retiring as soon as they can because they see the writing on the wall with this governor. The bail reform law was the nail in the coffin. Not worth risking of getting injured or killed because of the law.
Handguns, frames, receivers and firearms (e.g. Mossberg Shockwave) has to be shipped to your dealer in the state you reside in by federal law, long guns do not.
Only thing that changed in NY was background checks for ammo, but that is in NY, not in PA. Im not required to ask for ID when someone is buying ammo unless they may be under that age of 18 or under the age of 21 when buying handgun ammo. The new background check system in NY that is being...
False. I can sell NY compliant long guns to NY residents and ammunition as well. I cannot sell any semi-auto rifles unless you have your pistol permit with your amendment and you are 21 years of age an older.
Said the same thing. Remember the big rally in Albany when the Safe Act was passed? Not one thing changed. NY is done, you have zero chance at winning. You have two options, live with it or move. Also, republicans are not your friends. They voted for funding the Safe Act so you should not hold...
None of that shit here in Pennsylvania. I'm waiting for the asshole fudds to cry wolf. Then I can tell them that no one needs a box of 20 rounds of ammo to kill a deer.
I cannot tell you how many New Yorker's that come to my shop that have no clue about the ammo background check let alone the semi-auto rifle permit. Hunting season is right around the corner and you will see all of the outraged fudd hunters lose their shit when they stop at their local gun shop...
We are fucked, plain and simple. This is going to be dragged on for years. Who is going to stop them, the justice department? The state attorney general? Even if a republican wins the governor's seat in 2026, you still have to deal with the legislature. In order to get ANYTHING done, the...
NY will probably use the same system Pennsylvania uses. You can access the background check online or you can call it in. PA has a "research" which is equivalent to a delay of the NICS system but the PA SP have 15 days to get back to the dealer if it is a pass, denied or undetermined. If we get...
Simple, anytime a gun leaves your inventory, it needs to go through a 4473 or to another dealer, that is all it is saying. You want to rent or loan a gun to a customer? They need to fill out a 4473. It seems NY State really has no clue in how background checks are done. From what I read they are...
In PA, we do not ask for ID when buying ammo except if you look under age. You have to be 18 and older to buy long gun ammo and 21 and older to buy hand gun ammo. You can buy hand gun ammo if you are in the ages of 18-20 if you are using it in a long gun. Also, you cannot be a prohibited person.
It means in free states, 80% are just parts and are not firearms. Here in NY, they are considered firearms. Basically the court said the ATF overstepped their authority by writing laws that they are not constitutionally allowed to do since they are in the executive branch.
So what is the process right now when you go to your dealer or a store that sells ammo? Do you have to show them your ID and if so, what do they record?
So you would be saving $50, right? How about just giving the business to your local dealer and pay the $50 extra dollars. Then ask him if you buy the gun from him, what can he do if you buy the extra mags from him and have him modify them. It is tough enough for businesses in NY with the stupid...
The S&W has a better trigger than the GP100. Also, the S&W you can mount an optic to it because it is drilled and Tapped for a base. I do not think the GP100 has that. I also think the S&W looks better.
Where the mag tube goes into the receiver, polish the bore of that and take a small dremel and make a small bevel where the round comes out of the receiver and into the lifter. They have sharp edges and catch the soft brass and cause the issue you are having. That is why you have to "get angry...
You should not have to "get angry with it" to make it work properly. I have fixed quite of few of these Marlin's with your issue. The ones I fixed were Remlin's, not the older JM stamped ones. Was yours made by Remington?
Really? All of you handguns are registered with the government. What difference does it make if you have the semi-auto endorsement? Under the Safe Act, when they revoke your pistol permit, you lose all of your long guns too. Point being they already know you have guns and they will take...
I never received anything from the ATF stating any government issued ID MUST have the person's full middle name. There is nothing in the instructions on the 4473 that states that it does. When they changed the form, the added "IO" for initial only which means if someone has a legal middle name...
I fixed quite a few Remlins. The most common issue is where they machine the hole in the receiver for the mag tube. When the round is fed from the tube, it catches on the sharp edges of the machining of the receiver catching the brass. Take it apart and smooth out the hole.
If you want to buy a long gun from a dealer out of state, the dealer must abide by the laws in the state you are from. It is same for New Jersey residents who want to buy a long gun from me, they must have a firearms purchaser identification card. If you have a pistol permit, just get it amended...
I had a few in the shop. Not that great. Fit and finish was ok but racking the slide felt gritty. They were picky on FMJ ammo. If you look on GB, not many bids on them. If you can get them for a decent price, grab one and mess with it and you can get it to run other than that, look for something...
