12 ga. Bean Bag shells

Has anyone purchased or fired a bean bag round?

I fired them, years ago. Nothing al lthat special. I got hit with one once. It hurt.

I wouldn't recommend them for defensive use. If you have justification to use a shotgun, use regular ammo. There's no lesser standard for using a beanbag under Article 35.

I could see them for use against livestock or a wild animal, in an instance where you would be justified in using deadly force, but do not want to.

Seems like a pretty edge case, but an individual might be stuck in that corner.

I'm not sure the bean bags have a major advantage over the old rock salt rounds though.

I have loaded rock salt loads....very light regarding oz's.....no where near 7/8 or 1 oz.
They must hurt.
