That "BB gun" looks like a replica airsoft Walther (?).
I've got an airsoft gas-blowhack Glock 19. From a foot away, it is nearly indistinguishable from my real Glock 19. Where I live, I'd never practice with the airsoft pistol outdoors. Neighbors would certainly call the police.
So, I can absolutely understand such a replica toy being mistaken for a real firearm.

Beretta PX4 Storm .177 pellet gun. No chance in hell of distinguishing this from the real thing in a split second in full daylight, much less as it was starting to get dark. It's unfortunate that this kid wasn't brought up better.
All those pellet guns will have to be orange soon.

Same here - I had an airsoft that looked just like a Wilson Combat 1911 - only used indoors for training. Looked completely real.

They should be looking at who gave him that gun, there s a reason you have to 18 to buy these guns . I like the realism of these guns and can see the benifits of them as training tools but giving a 13 year old one is irresponsible.

I was called a racist yesterday over this stupid story.
Apparently the cop was supposed to taze him or something and he is a murderer and a racist. I also said he was racist for expecting the cops not to react to criminals just because they are black.
I said his parents suck and personal responsibility (at 13 an adult had to buy this for him and an adult had to fail to let him know what a stupid decision pointing it at a cop is) etc... He said I was making excuses for killing a kid. I congratulated him for at least getting that part right.
Whatever. The BLM movement is cancer. My Facebook friend is an idiot. I don't care what your skin color is you deserve to be shot if you point something like that at a cop.

Let me clarify I said my friend was racist not the cop. At no point did we agree.
