A 14-year-old boy has confessed to killing all five of his family members at their Alabama home, authorities said Tuesday.
WAFF-TV reported that the teenager, who has not been identified, confessed to shooting his father, stepmother and three siblings. The incident occurred at the family's home in Elkmont, Ala late Monday evening.
Three of the victims died on the scene, and two more were flown to a nearby hospital in critical condition. They both later died from their injuries. The Limestone County Sheriff's Office said in a tweet that the teen was "assisting investigators in locating the weapon, a 9mm handgun that he said he tossed nearby."
