Doubt I'll get any hits but gotta try. Advertising this for my mother. This car was willed to her by her deceased partner last January. She wasn't too keen on letting it go, but she is getting forced out of their home where she was supposed to have given any time needed to prepare for another home as the property went to his daughter. Well, his daughter is a money hungry greedy ****! Doug would be turning in his grave at what she is doing! Anywho......
The car was completely disassembled and restored to show quality. I can't remember how many years it took him, but the car is absolutely beautiful in every aspect! First show out of his garage the car won best in class, best Chrysler, and best of show! He restored stainless trim for Model A Fords that were national show cars as a hobby, he put the same effort and care into this Chrysler.
I drove his Model A's quite a bit and when this car was finished also drove it some. It is really nice to drive. There has been only one modification added to the car, a custom steering wheel, that he made. You pull a lock pin out and the wheel cants off to the right to offer better entry access. Otherwise, it's as Chrysler built it in 1932.
Where she was living, it was in a garage where it could be watched over and pests kept away. Unfortunately with everything going on we had to move it into a storage unit today. It wasn't started since early last fall when we put her to sleep for the winter (edit:sorry, been longer than that. Last ran a year ago last fall. He passed on a day before my mom's birthday in January ). The battery was low and of course the **** took the 6v battery charger so we couldn't charge the battery, BUT, it fired right off running great after a short coast start down the hill and I drove it to the storage unit. Felt great to be behind the wheel of that beauty again! But a mile down the road the thoughts came and my co-pilot wasn't in the passenger seat next to me and I fell apart
Doug was like a best friend and father to me.
Well, enough with the story. If anyone has any questions and interest I'll answer them the best I can. As of right now these are the only pictures I have. Mom doesn't have internet access yet due to the move so she can't email me others, I had to get these from her FB pictures. The pictures truly don't due the car justice. It really has to be seen!!! If I can get a hold of better pictures, I will post them.
I'm not sure about posting a price, I know what mom is asking for it and what he was offered cash before he passed.
