That list can shrink very quickly after looking at competing priorities like taxes even worse than NYS or weather even worse than NYS. For example, a quick check on my tax program confirmed that 6 of these 14 are significantly more expensive, in terms of Taxes than NYS on retirees. YMMV.

The other problem is stupid is contagious. You could box the liberals in but won’t necessarily stop their ideas from spreading.
Great example is Bernie Sanders, he’s pretty popular in NH. It’s a weird freakin state man. You have a state with no state-level gun laws, tons of libertarians, no fireworks regulations. I grew up on the border of Mass and remember as a kid everybody went up to NH to get tattoos because they weren’t legal in Mass. no sales tax, no income tax.
Yet at the same time they have a socialistic alcohol sales scheme (NH state liquor stores are awesome though) and they are almost completely Democrat run, and love socialists like Sanders. Go figure...
