.338 Win Mag
Met @Shoots100 yesterday. Looked at the 35AR ammo he had. My curiosity is piqued. Anyone else here have info on it?
I came very close to buying the .357 version
The 35 Gunner uses either 6.5 grendel or 7.62x39 brass.
The Grendel brass is the easier brass to make Gunner brass with, but I've made a couple of pieces with AK brass, just to see how it works.
The Gunner was designed and conceived by two shooters from NY.
Unfortunately, one of them, Gunner57 passed away earlier this year.
I decided to complete my semi Gunner with the parts I bought two years ago, as a tribute to Gunner57.
There's no plans as I know of to make any more 35 gunner part's.
It was a labor of Love.
There's also a round called the 358 Herrett AR. It's about the same thing as the Gunner, but uses 6.8 SPC brass and 357 Herrett die.

I've been wildcatting for a long time and this is one of the easier cartridges to form.I regret missing out but am still slightly weary about totally proprietary wildcat guns. Glad it worked out for you! I’m not sure I’d have been able to handle the brass creation easily.

It's really a one die pass with Alexander Arms 6.5 Grendel brass and a little trimming to shorten the OAL.
I usually fire form the brass, but have tested the pre FF brass against the formed brass, and at 50- 100 yards, there's no real big difference in accuracy.
I just formed some gunner brass with some 7.62x39 brass last weekend using .358 147 grn JHP 9mm projos.
While I had to single load them, the 10 rounds fired all shot into a 1" group at 50 yards.
Made some nice brass, but forming with 6.5 grendel brass is way easier and they load from the magazine at the get go.
The 3 different 200 grn FTX loads I tested all shot into a 1" square at 50 yards.
It was pouring out, so I didn't set it out further or get to chrono them either.
The 200 FTX all Fed from the mag and ejected nicely.
Another nice thing is that the same load I use for my Bolt Gunner, also works in my Semi gunner.
One load for my two Gunners.
Now that I got a load dialed in for my semi gunner now , I just need the new thermal scope to arrive, and my 2018 coyote rig will be ready for service.

My 50 Bmg custom 820 grn HP puts a pretty big hole in them, but my Semi Gunner will be a lot easier carrying around the woods. Are you going to shoot a coyote with this load? You Might just chop it in two pieces! lol.
Did you see in the testing we did this created massive cavities so even too much for the deer and mules on the shoulder as it will ruin lots of meat.
for the boiler room is fine and will shoot the lungs and heart through the back door.
I am saying in case you want the fur because will put a full fist hole on the exit I am sure.

I like cartridges that cause massive damage, that's why I was drawn to the 35 Gunner.
I built the Semi Gunner purposely for Night time Coyote Eradication, with Extreme prejudice !
The bigger the hole, the better.
I've been using the cutting edge projo's for awhile in my semi auto 50 cal.
The 375's are winning all of the uber long range comps now a days.
Most using solid brass projo's.
You should make Terry proud, and stick with making more Gunner parts to sell to the uninformed shooters looking to buy a 300 BO !

Is this about equivalent to the 35 Remmington?
Oh more power eh? It really is interesting how things come full circle, with the 35 Remington and .351 WSL being developed for the semi automatics of their day.A bit more power. but yes the same idea and from a 10 rd (30 in free states) AR15 magazines.

Sorry to the OP, we might be hijacking your original thread. let us know if this is not the right place to follow up this
chit chat. No harm intended, we are just talking.
Why don't calibers above .375 make no sense? One can pump the 35 rem a bit more with modern brass and modern firearm vs. the old ones.
But yes, regardless, a extremely effective fast killing round.
The 35 and 375 bore are the last two bores that make sense from a ballistic performance stand point.
One can shoot flatter and get more punch on target than with 416, 45 and 50 calibers.
Plus ones enjoys the verstaility of the 35 specially wiht endless options from inexpensive pistol bullets
to high end peformance bullets for all sort of duties but specially hunting any game including big game.

The .408 CheyTac for instance was developed to be the ultimate long range cartridge.
Sorry, I am talking in compact and short actions for most civilized use not ultramagnums and specialty or military applications including the BMG and its derivates
