Generally bankruptcy sales are a terrible deal for the consumer. At the beginning the markdowns are slight - for instance, at Sports Authority, initial discounts were 5-10% even though before the bankruptcy SA handed out 20% off coupons like hot cakes. By the time the discounts fall below equivalent sale price levels the good stuff is picked clean. The professional liquidator firms like Tiger or Hilco are quite good at maximizing returns and most of the time a chain is liquidated it's because these firms made the best bid for the inventory knowing how well they can squeeze it. Best of all the liquidators will truck in new but schlock merchandise and put it on the sales floor to trick people into buying it as part of the bankruptcy.

There is something about those red and yellow "going out of business" signs that the guys hold on the corner that drives irrational buying of inventory, either paying too much or being the crappy leftovers.

with given that they are a national retailer I imagine most of the guns and the good stuff will just be moved to other stores. Seems a lot simpler then lossing more money on merchandise when they are already hurting for cash

I expect a similar type store (competitors) back in the same spot as I always stop there for "something I may need" by the start of next deer season. Where else would I be able to go as I go south into deer country on 840 into RT8. I got to get my 10 boolits. FUAC

I always hated GM Middletown. I honestly tried to shop there. But the prices were ridiculous. Same ammo across the street at Walmart was 10 to 30% cheaper.
They pissed me off when they wanted $75 per handgun when I needed them transferred up from NJ.

I have 23 acres off route 8 south in leonardsville. Being a brush hog and then hunt it LOL.
