A-703, Prohibits the use of lead ammunition in the taking of wildlife on wildlife management areas, state forests, forest preserves, state parks or any other state-owned land that is open for hunting and on land contributing surface water to the New York City water supply, has advanced to 3rd Reading.

There's probably more residual lead in the soil from leaded gasoline, lead wheel weights than bullets will ever introduce to the water supply. It's easily filtered out at the processing plants. Another source in NYC is lead pipes and solder in lead-copper joints in old buildings. This is after the processing plants. A simple Britta gravity-carbon filter is all that's needed.

Beware FUDDs, they're coming for your guns and ammo too.

And besides, the Gov't would have to perform environmental impact studies in order to validate their claims, can't be on assumptions. Must prove lead is entering the waterways entirely due to the use of lead ammo in proportion to the contamination.
