Best Buy fires workers from stores.
There two forces at work here: The pandemic restrictions and the $15 dollar minimum wage.
The "emergency" PPE and money are given to companies to stay open during the pandemic inadvertently or by plan, has created zombie companies. These companies took the money with the promise to keep people working. Now that the time period is over, they are laying off the employees. Other companies that should have gone down or bankrupt were allowed to stay open thus creating zombie companies.
Now throw in the 15 dollar minimum wage and BOOM!
Now sprinkle on rising Gas Prices and rising inflation and things are gonna get real ugly real fast.
