Yesterday the U.S. Court of Appeals Court for the 3rd Circuit upheld New Jersey's 10-round limit on gun magazines, echoing five other federal appeals courts that have found such laws to be consistent with the Second Amendment. "New Jersey's law reasonably fits the State's interest in public safety and does not unconstitutionally burden the Second Amendment's right to self-defense in the home," Judge Patty Shwartz concludes in an opinion joined by Judge Joseph Greenaway. District of Columbia v. Heller, the landmark 2008 decision that overturned a local ban on handguns. "The Second Amendment is an equal part of the Bill of Rights," Bibas writes. "We must treat the right to keep and bear arms like other enumerated rights, as the Supreme Court insisted in Heller. We may not water it down and balance it away based on our own sense of wise policy."

If restricting the number of bullets a firearm may contain is such an important public safety issue then perhaps it should be restricted for everyone, including the judge's security detail.

I’d add that the core of the 2nd, is not just personal defense in the home, but defense of the nation at large. This “in the home” qualification is a sham.

That fact that it isn't, that these specific civilians are allowed to be exempt from these laws, demonstrates, to me, that they are setting up for a fascist takeover of our governments.
Give one logical, valid reason why their security needs more than ten boolits when the general public does not.

As Scalia said, its at its ZENITH in the home, but that does not mean its limited to the home. We need the scotus to rule on this and shut this down. Squashing mag bans would be a good victory.
