University of Texas takes down four Confederate statues overnight
The University of Texas removed four Confederate statues from its Austin campus early Monday morning, amid growing pressure to take down such monuments in the wake of racist violence in Charlottesville.
University president Gregory Fenves announced the decision late Sunday night, saying the "horrific displays of hatred" in Virginia had made it clear that Confederate statues had become "symbols of modern white supremacy and neo-Nazism." (Perhaps just a select few ) percentage of the population think this way ...
You could find more than one person that thinks they are symbols that honor folks that fought in the worst war ever to hit America....Look at that roof fellow . After his murders a photo appeared of him holding a confederate flag ... Flag has to go ... I always wondered ... What if someone photo shopped that flag...

According to the research, one of Obama’s great-great-great-great grandfathers, George Washington Overall, owned two slaves who were recorded in the 1850 census in Nelson County, Ky. The same records show that one of Obama’s great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers, Mary Duvall, also owned two slaves.
The Baltimore Sun retraced much of Reitwiesner’s work, using census information available on the Web site ancestry.com and documents retrieved by the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, among other sources. The records show that Overall, then 30, owned a 15-year-old black female and a 25-year-old black male, while Mary Duvall, his mother-in-law, owned a 60-year-old black man and a 58-year-old black woman.
