ACOG lens caps

Looking to have onboard lens protection for a 4x32 ACOG. Flip up style - ideally for both ends. What are your recommendations?

I am reading that the small eye relief makes it challenging to use a traditional flip up lens cap. Is the rubber accordian eyepiece the only good choice for the ocular lens?

What about the objective lens? Is the Trijicon (Tenebraex) flip up cover the best? Other?

I can't recommend which ones but if you flip down the front one and leave the rear one open, you now have a 1X scope for CQB with both eyes open. Try it. It works.

Yes, that is the same technique used with an aimpoint under extremely bright ambient lighting. Covering the objective lens makes the dot plenty bright even in desert sun or snow.

That is another reason to have a onboard lens cover for the objective lens.

Just to follow up, the objective flip up by Tenebraex is good. Like nearly all Tenebraex items.

However the ocular flip up by Tenebraex is not good. It retains very poorly. It eats up a lot of eye relief which is already small on an ACOG. It is expensive compared to the far better ocular flip up by Trijicon. The Trijicon is half the price, holds on to the ACOG much better, and consumes about half of the eye relief the Tenebraex does.

So, as I see it, for the current generation 4x32 ACOG - the ocular lens flip up the Tenebraex is a fail. The Trijicon is hands down a better option.
