If I don't have to be in a gun fight, I won't. In this scenario, if I'm given an opportunity to easily run away from a drawn firearm, I'm running away....fast... then calling 911.
I have not trained to be a soldier or police officer. I only want to use defensive firearms to protect my family or myself. Outside of those situations, if I can draw on a bad guy without being observed and take a careful shot, I may consider doing so. But, not being shot at is still my highest priority.
If that makes me a coward, so be it. I am absolutely afraid of being on the wrong end of a gun barrel.

as the above poster is saying...another reason is even if you do good and take care of bad guy you will need lawyers and money up the ying yang to defend yourself and what you did. So thats the thank you so to speak you get for taking out a scumbag with a gun.

the actor engaging the "bad guy" was not wearing full face protection which leads me to believe this is set up, and the bad guy actor has no intentions of firing back. In the real world where real world shit happens, this scenario might not be true. Bullets fail to penetrate, hits made might not be disabling, adrenaline dumps cause misses.
Looking passed the obvious set up for a TV show one should ask themselves what they are willing to put their life and livelihood on the line for. Good guy engages bad guy, bad guy dies, bad guys family says "he was a good kid, just went back to school, wouldn't hurt anyone", bad guys family sues for wrongful death, good guy spends $150,000+ in court costs. All this for what? You saved some retail company the $200 that was in the drawer? Some people would say it was to save the clerk. Ok I can get behind that, hes an innocent guy in a bad spot, but is he going to help incur the costs to you and your family after the shooting? Probably not, you'll probably get a slap on the back, 15 secs on the local news, and a whole bucketful of shit to clean up afterwards.

The answer is simple.
As you approach the armed criminal, you slowly back up and find the nearest outlet to the ventilation ducts. While entering, you carefully crawl your way through until you're above said armed criminal avoiding as much noise as possible. Waiting for the most opportunistic time, you will slam your arms down until you break straight through the ceiling.
As you're falling on top of the armed criminal, you will carefully and quickly deploy a pistol whip to two pressure points, specifically on the back of the neck just below the medulla oblongata in the c1 or c2 vertebrae and with your other hand in between the subscapularis and levator scapulae muscles in the neck simultaneously. A tactical roll out of the drop to assess the situation further will allow you space to tell you if further action is needed.
This will allow the avoidance of gunfire and make it easier for the police to engage the suspect later as the suspect will be unconscious once they arrive.

That doesn't make you a coward. That makes you a smart man that is keeping his head together to complete the overall mission without distractions that'll potentially make your mission a failure.
That mission is getting home to your family. I would do the same. Without me, they don't eat. Family is much more important than anyone else. If they cared about themselves, they too would be armed.
I actually like these types of videos. I think they can be a real help in the world of reality.
Too many gun owners/gun carriers think they are good with their pistols cause they can hit really well shooting at paper and other stationary objects. This gets the mind thinking and the body moving.
