The Homeland Security Management Institute at Monroe Community College, is offering an Active Shooter Awareness Seminar Tuesday, October 11 from 9am to 11:30am. The seminar will be held at the PSTF, 1190 Scottsville Rd in room 109. Active Shooter Intermediate will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 9am to 11:30.
Active Shooter Awareness - This course is intended to provide participants with a basic understanding of an active shooter situation. The course will discuss ways to prepare and respond to active shooter crisis, expectations of law enforcement, personnel roles, development of a plan and other critical information.
Active Shooter Intermediate – This course will consist of a tabletop exercise to focus on the response phase of an active shooter incident. Participants will role-play a scenario-based exercise. It is recommended that participants have complete the Active Shooter Awareness (pre-requisite) before taking the intermediate portion.
