NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A group of state lawmakers want you to butt out. The group, including Sen. Todd Kaminsky from Nassau County and Sen. Liz Krueger of Manhattan, want to ban cigarette filters -- aka butts -- as well as single-use electronic cigarettes.

The proposed Tobacco Product Waste Reduction Act would ban the sale of filtered cigarettes, attachable single-use filters, and single use e-cigarettes, starting in 2022.
"Cigarette butts are everywhere — littering our streets, our parks, and our waterways, and spreading plastic pollution and toxic chemicals into our environment and our food supply,” Krueger said.

Maybe the legislature should focus on more acute and meaningful issues, like the net loss of residents in the State, the loss of Blue Collar jobs, the employment of criminal migrants, the State level of taxation, and more... Pffffft!

Personally I'd like to see a law on regulating the width of parking spaces in commercial lots where any business can hold more than 5 cars, ie, to be a minimum of 11', or a minimum of 3' empty space between spots, (Got a new car) lmao... This is a very serious and troublesome issue for society. It causes millions in lost wages paying to remove dings in car doors, and allows unsafe escalation of traffic in parking lots by squeezing too many cars into tight spaces. Furthermore, tight spaces prevent the emergency smashing of windows to retrieve animals or small children left in vehicles in unsafe environments!

I could devote an entire thread on why NY would be so much better off with a unicameral state .gov vs. the current bicameral system. 1 or 2 senators/County.
