Amazon pulls out of plan to build New York City headquarters

So much for those 25,000 high paying tech jobs coming to NY! Each was supposedly going to pay an average of $150K per job. They noted opposition from that utterly stupid Socialist / Communist cunt, Acutely Occasional Cortex as well in their decision.

Ocasio-Cortez cheers as Amazon reportedly reconsiders NY HQ after fierce opposition

Oh, - and since NY was going to give away $3 Billion in subsidies, now Princess Qhomo can likely use that to fill the growing hole in his state budget! What a deal!

from I read early and my understanding is with all that Cuomo gave away we, the taxpaers were basically paying for those employees so from what I have read of it....Find with me... Dont build it and we will save our money as again CC gave away the state to "get it"....

I will have to try to find that article again. it was NO GOOD deal for NY......

FUAC, the only way you know how to negotiate is to throw the money you steal from us day after day at companies you pitiful friggin loser, damn I hate that asswipe.

Fox business on radio said people in immediate area wanted it and 70% of the state did but some local leaders or whatever were not going to play ball.

I have no idea if it would have been good for the state, net. The massive tax benefits seemed hard to defend to me.

This will be another example of ny being unattractive right now. Needs a huge change in direction.

why fuck bezos? He runs a business. If other cities will throw money at him he is not only smart but arguably his etchical duty to go with them.

Richest guy needing a government handout, yeah fuck him. I don't like any government "incentives" to attract any business, sports team or anything like that. If you have a viable business plan it should pay for itself.
This guy being worth whatever he's worth should have no problem securing funds so yeah, fuck him.

The handout is not to him, it is to his publicly owned business. They are not the same thing.

On a personal note if a gas station is selling gas at $3.40 and the one next to it has gas at $3.00, which one do you go to if you're filling up? Can't you afford $6 extra at the pricier station? Why do you nonetheless go to the cheaper one? Why shouldn't amazon go to a city offering incentives?

Amazon made 11 billion last year, they are making money but still want government incentives.

The local gas station selling gas cheaper than the other is still making money or he's an idiot for pricing so low. Not the same thing.

I see everyones point but the way I see it and was hearing about is amazon was not asking for the incentives /handouts..people/citiese just started offering them up to entice them to add to their local economy in the long run......I see going to whoever has best deal but I also dont think amazon was asking for them either....

Not to mention, tax breaks are not a hand out.

It's not like giving taxpayer money to Amazon, it's just stealing less from Amazon than you might have.

If a mugger hands you back your wallet with $50 still left in it, he did not give you $50.

Having Amazon go somewhere else is NOT terrible thing. Anytime Amazon comes to an area they employ thousands of peple. Guess what happens to all the property taxes in those areas, if you said they would go down, you would be dead wrong. Greedy town Governments raise property taxes because they figure everyone is now rich.

The Emperor screwed the pooch on this one (again) but all-n-all, losing Amazon isn't a terrible thing
