Yes. To be honest, I liked the OE round bolt knob, comfortable to use. But this is much better for use with larger hands, and I feel will give me a faster 2nd shot, if needed.
Can't speak for every manufacturer (Remington 700 is soldered/welded) but the Ruger American is ultra modern and modular, made to be assembled quickly with minimum labor, like modern vehicles.

Agreed. I have no desire to change the stock. I will be swapping out the trigger assembly for a Timney. Other than that, the darn thing grouped into less than 1-1/2" (Hornady American Whitetail with the 165 gr BTSP) @ 100 yards, first time out, with only 10 rounds through it (only had/have 1 box ammo at this point), and me in a hurry.
My Ranch has an adjustable trigger. I haven't messed with it yet. Do your Americans have the adjustable trigger as well? The only other mods I have done are I painted the magazine well black and I added a linear comp (which looks awesome and works with directing muzzle blast down range) but I have a feeling it has messed with accuracy.
Yes, both of my American rifles have adjustable OE triggers. I have adjusted the 7mm-08 in the past. The lighter the pull, the longer the first "stage". I have it set to a compromise 4 lbs.
