Ahhh, the smell of government dependency on a Monday afternoon.
It's kinda like standing on the deck of a sinking ship. You know you're going to die but you have no choice but to watch it happenMeh, I don't care. We are fucked.
Worse than that.Dependency doesn't build people up.
What I want to know is, out of the people that actively take money from the gov, what percentage of them wind up with meaningful jobs? I bet it's abysmally low.
The goal isn't lifting people out of poverty, otherwise they'd focus on domestic industry and building up business incentives to hire people. The goal is merely to disguise how badly the economy is failing in a money shuffle game to get re-elected.
This article is stupid.
....lawmakers expanded the CTC from $2,000 to as much as $3,600 per child....
That's per year. Nobody is quitting their job because they got an extra 1600 or 3200 dollars. If people want to disagree with it on principle or whatever, I get it. But the claim that millions will quit work because they got an extra 1600 per year (equal to $133 in a month) is laughable at best.
I'm guessing a lot of you here make in excess of $1000 a week or a bit over $4000 a month. You going to go out and quit your job making $4000+ per month because you got an extra $133 per kid? Get fucking real.
It happened with unemployment and an extra $600/month. We’re still short 5 million jobs off of Trumps high. Where did they go?This article makes zero sense. People are going to quit their jobs to sit home and collect $300 / month? Cmon, thsts ridiculous.
No, unemployment was paying $1,100 per WEEK, so essentially $4,400 per MONTH. This child tax credit is an advance on your anticipated refund for next year, and is $300 per MONTH. I don't know of anyone who's quitting their job to stay home for $300 per month. I go home angry if I gross less than $300 per DAY.It happened with unemployment and an extra $600/month. My point was more that many have not yet returned back to the workplace after Covid. Now add that $300/month to the student loan repayment non-payment extension and they will continue to stay home. Factor in reduced and/or increased costs in child care and $300/month maybe more than they were betting paying all that in the end. I’ll bet this changes when student loan repayments start again, well if they do. Child care costs have doubled during and after Covid. No, unemployment was paying $1,100 per WEEK, so essentially $4,400 per MONTH. Don't think the folks collecting this money are home schooling muchTax code is made to restrict you in all ways it can, IRS, Americas Gestapo.
When they find out those parents are now home schooling, actually taking responsibility away from the government for raising their kids they'll cancel that shit faster than a NY second.
