Anti-Gun Law Professors Pen Amicus Brief In Bushmaster Lawsuit
Thirteen law professors have penned an amicus brief supporting the plaintiffs in Soto et al v. Bushmaster et al. This is the Connecticut state case where Bushmaster, the distributor, and the FFL are being sued for negligent entrustment for selling an AR15 to the Newton murderer's mother. The case is before the Connecticut Supreme Court on appeal after it was dismissed at the superior court level where the judge said negligent entrustment did not apply.

To me, their reasoning is such that ANYONE could make this kind of claim about ANYTHING!

It is light years beyond ludicrous. Using their rationale, I believe I could make this same argument over the entirety of everything that exists in the world.

Let's make up an example: I buy a package of ping pong balls for my home, and my kid while playing ping pong with a neighbor kid, passes the serve to the other kid, and that kid swallows the ball and chokes to death. Negligent entrustment against the ping pong ball manufacturer!

Next: I buy a can of Krylon spray paint to paint my grill. I put it away in my basement, but the neighbor kid breaks in, steals it, tries huffing it, and chokes to death on the paint. (Actually, that might be a good thing to finally be rid of him, theoretically, of course, but I digress...). But by their rationale, Krylon would be at fault for making a dangerous project , selling it to me through the chain of commerce, and my letting the kid get his hands on it by stealing it after breaking into my home.

Fuck it. The world has gone nuts.
