Hey guys, new here.
I’ve been filing out my paperwork for my permit in Rockland, gathering my references (1 is a Suffern P.O. which I hope helps) and I got stuck on a section.
I got a clean record, full time job in IT at one of the biggest companies in the world but I’m super worried about my prescription. I suffer from mild ADD and I’m prescribed Adderall, taken 5 days a week (only on work days). I don’t know how this will effect my application process or how it relates to “Mental Health” in context to the Application. I asked around the web if this is considered a “Mental Illness” and many responded “no, ADD/ADHD is a learning disability, check ‘no’, but I would love to hear other people’s thoughts. My main question is, do I need to disclose this somehow and if so, how do I logistically do this? Talk to my dr and have him write something saying I’m not crazy? How do I then give that in with the application? Does it need to be notarized? Do I not worry about this and answer the questions one if they arise? If anyone here has been in this scenario or heard of one like it, I’ll take all the advice I can get!
Thanks!
