Army Mulls Marine Corps' Polymer Magazine Decision

So somthing has been found to be very reliable by one of the branches of our armed forces, why the mulling? At this point the Army should be paying the Marines for the R&D. Marines seem to get it right while the Army gets it wrong.

This rivalry has gotten out of control. This one up nonsense has started ever since the Marines fielded the better digital pattern over the regular woodland pattern and patented it not allowing the other services to field it.

Then all hell broke loose with everyone trying to one up the other. Different uniforms, different rifles, different ammo, ect.

The magpul S are being used in theater right now regardless if they are officially authorized or not. The Army might as well adopt them.

Sort of like the Waffen SS and the German Army. (not comparing our guys to nazis, just a remark on the "duplication of effort" thing. German R&D quirks are fascinating to look into.) The SS actually prevented the regualr army from using their special camo patterns. Pretty stupid "turf" fighting.

The M27, made by Heckler & Koch, is a version of the German gun-maker’s HK 416, an M4-style weapon that used a piston gas system instead of the direct gas impingement system found on the M4 and M16A4.

The Marines like it so much that the service is considering making it the next service rifle for infantry battalions in the Corps.

Soldiers have used PMAGs in their weapons in combat for years because of their proven reliability.

OK, really dumb question time, but if the guys who actually carry and shoot these things like them, how does that not outweigh the opinion of some group of REMFs? seems to me that results should trump laboratory theory.
