Just wanted to formally say thank you to @NirvanaFan for inviting me over from NYF. I would regularly check the new post on NYF and wonder where the hell everyone was. Lol. This site appears to be very active!

I received my "no restrictions" permit February 2016 but have been around guns my whole life. My grandfather owned a sporting goods store in Syracuse while I was growing up and I shot many firearms as a kid. Just never pistols. Wow, what a learning curve this has been!

I was beside myself after I purchased my Springfiled Mod2 9mm 3", I was having trouble hitting the target from about 6-9 yards! I thought to myself, "There is no way I should be carrying a pistol. How the hell am I such a bad shot?"

After watching countless video's, instruction by several club members (some good some bad. lol), Practical Pistol Skills 1 instruction (Awesome) and countless hours/rounds at the club/range I am quite confident with my firearm and can shoot a tight group from several distances.

I continue to research, learn and take instructional courses. I look forward to hanging out in the forum and learning all I can from everyone here.

Lucky you.
I've got over 30 hours of live fire instruction. Course work on NY Article 35. Taken multiple concealed carry courses. I fire thousands of rounds during practice with rifles and pistols per year. And I've got a "target" permit.

Welcome. Maybe you can teach me something. After 35 yrs around guns I still cant hit the target. I just like the noise they make.
