They were taking a beating calling them "assault rifles" since that is a well-known name applied to full-auto only.
by calling them "assault-style" they can try to cash in on the scary terminology, similar to the equally made up propaganda term "assault weapon", to sway public opinion against semi-auto rifles.
This is yet another NY law that should be thrown out as an infringement to the 2nd A. Guns, in the time of the Founding Fathers, had no serial #s, and people were not only permitted to, but ENCOURAGED to, build their own weapons.

More litigation...................ghost guns are legal and were legal in nys before her lawsuit and the law was changed................Maglock, Primary Arms, etc etc etc and the ammo law that is unconstitutional on many fronts....they have to get Trump and the guns for Xi to walk into Albany and Syracuse and take over.
