Beretta Tomcat .32 acp.. anyone familiar?

I recently bought the little brother to the Tomcat, a 21 A Bobcat Inox in .22LR.. just a wonderful gun, with a VERY cool design..
the tilt up barrel is just so cool.. Pistol breaks down for cleaning totally in 3 seconds.. Hit the barrel tilt lever, and pull the slide off,, Done!
Scary accurate too for such a small pistol.. I am a lousy shot with any pistol, but I am as accurate with the little Beretta as I am with my SR 22 , or my Sig P938 or M&P 9mm..
Anyway, I was at the range the other day shooting my little keltec P32, and I just got disgusted with my total inability to hit anything with it.. I was missing a big 12 inch round target from 6-7 feet away.. Not even touching it.. Then I started shooting my bobcat at 30 feet and hitting every shot, with some almost decent groups.
I had the same issue with my ruger LCP II.. Could not hit anything with it.. Yet when I pick up my wife's Sig P238, my own P938, and now the little Bobcat, there's NO problem.. Looks like tiny polymer guns are NOT what I shoot well for reasons I cannot fathom.. The Keltec has the same barrel length as the Bobcat.. Anyway, I am ready to ditch the little Keltec, but DO like the .32 ACP round in a pocket gun.. I know its not a bear stopper, but I like it at the range, just easier to shoot and practice with.. Been considering the Beretta Tomcat to replace the KelTec, and thought maybe a few member here have owned or at least fired one, and could let me know what they think... bob

Ive never used or shot one. But I too have been interested in them for the tilt up barrels. Otherwise Id go with an NAA Guardian.

I have a Beretta 950BS (.22 Short) that I bought new in the 80's. Great little pistol with the tilt barrel design.

I like the Guardian, but its DA only, and many choke with any ammo other than Winchester Silvertips which is what the manual says MUST be used.
The Beretta is more forgiving with varied ammo from all reports, has a much longer history, and I like the DA/SA with safety , much like my other carry guns...bob

I do agree with that. I believe the Guardian lacks an extractor, which would explain the ammo issue.

Tomcat does not have an extractor either. Blowback eject.. Also, you need to use standard grade .32 acp,- NO +p stuff at all.. Early one had a lot of problems with frames cracking.. Newer INOX models have been beefed up, and cracking problems resolved, but Beretta still insists on using only ammo under 130 ft⋅lbf of muzzle energy. bob

Common theme seems to be single action triggers vs double action triggers. Disciplined live and dry fire practice makes perfect though.

Thats the way it seems to be for me, despite a lot of range time.. I can't seem to shoot DA only triggers very well, although physically I feel fine doing so.. I don't feel like I am "pulling up" or straining.. Feels perfectly natural, but with my DA triggers, I get flyers up the ass...
Whatever the situation, i simply shoot the P238 so much better than the Keltec P32 or the LCP I I had...
Traded the LCP II . should have just kept it for what I got,,, keeping the Keltec.. Maybe after I get my glasses in a week or so, I will get to the range, and see if I can string some acceptable groups together, and just keep it for a front pocket "going to the Dollar General down the street", type of CC weapon... bob

Yeah,, gotta keep working with them. I believe I made huge gains in shooting tiny pistols by shooting DA revolvers heavily, and accurately for a couple years. The P32 is/was one of my favorite tiny pistols. I bought mine new around 04 or so, and carried it in my pocket on and off till a few years ago. When I got it I thought it was inaccurate. When I sold it to a buddy (who already had two P32's) he wanted it because of its "accuracy" LOL.
