Wow NYS is actually doing something I agree with. I do not think disabled people should be shocked since they have mental disabilities that prevent them from making sound decisions. People that do this are sick and should have the probed shoved up their ass and cracked to 11.

The article says that NYS residents are not receiving shock therapy, only being sent to a behavioral health facility that administers that particular form of savagery to other patients. Children are sent there at their parent(s)’ discretion.

The reason shock therapy is still being used, is because for a small few people, it works and gives relief.
For some people who live in absolute terror and crippling thoughts and mental torment, this therapy can be 100% effective to "quiet" their minds.
This therapy has been grossly over used though.
This should only be used for people who have no hope for recovery and is the only option short of euthanization.
If you havent seen people who are so schizophrenic that they gouge their own eyes out or bite off their own fingers, its not a pretty sight.
These people either lay strapped to a bed 24/7 until they die, or get shocked and play checkers while looking out a window for the rest of their lives.
