"86. In February 2016, a fully-holstered P320 discharged without a trigger pull inside a Roscommon, Michigan Police Officer’s vehicle when the officer moved to exit the vehicle during a snowstorm. The incident was captured on the Officer’s body-worn camera. "
i would love to see that video showing the gun going off on its own ... hey its on body cam they say ..
Impossible to carry a holstered firearm without it pointing at people sometimes. How do I become a certified gun owner and what does this mean?
wouldn’t you dropping your gun make you negligent?
Also for those that say they didn’t pull the trigger and some one was killed I have to ask why was your gun pointed at said person? Again, doesn’t that make them negligent since they had all this training and what’s the first rule? Don’t point your firearm at anything you don’t intent to kill or destroy right? So we’re these cops charged?
I bet there was a string from a jacket stuck in the holster with the gun or something like that that snagged the trigger.
But if there wasn't, and it really did go off without the trigger being pulled, then it is an extremely rare case of both an accidental discharge that wasn't negligent, *and* a case where a firearm manufacturer is faced with legitimate grounds for a lawsuit.
If they can't find evidence of the string or whatever, then they should absolutely settle quickly and for as much money as it takes.
