California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill that will allow individuals, local governments and the state’s attorney general to sue gun manufacturers over crimes that are committed with their weapons.​

The Firearm Industry Responsibility Act will also ban the manufacture or sale of guns that are “abnormally dangerous and likely to create an unreasonable risk of harm to public health and safety in California.”

signed my bill, #AB1594. We can finally hold the gun industry accountable for the harm their products cause. Private citizens in CA, the AG & local govts will be able to sue gun manufacturers & retailers when state law isn’t followed.

I like that idea but that wont prevent them from being sued. Guns are already there.

No but it would put a lot of pressure on governmental agencies to in turn pressure the idiots responsible for this.

Police and state NG units unable to get arms, armorers or ammo would be a good starting point.

Will there be a Fast Food Industry responsibility act, or Tobacco company, Alcohol, Automotive, etc...?

This is setting a VERY bad precedent in this country.

We need a Tyranny Act to hold politicians accountable for failing to perform their civic duties and oppressing citizens.
