California suspends the registration on a ‘22 Elantra N because it’s too loud

These people are just losing their minds. A young man driving in track mode gets pulled over for being too loud and the officer suspends the registration roadside. Where the due process since the cop doesn’t know the law. He then takes it to the inspection station to get tested and they test it wrong. The car fails so it has to be repaired, but since nothing is wrong with it no work has been done so he can’t get the registration reactivated. What a joke.

I think that’s a lot of marketing mixed I. There as well. I like my vehicle to make noise and the EV’s silence creeps me out.

I’d like to know how this cop checked the decibels and what would have happened if the driver said no I wasn’t in track mode. Would the same result have occurred? Prove it was my car making the noise over 90 decibels? Again no due process is scary. Give him a ticket and move on. I couldn’t even imagine doing this to anyone.
