Peterson has a bit of a cult following. He is vehemently anti-politically correct. Agree with almost everything he says in his lectures. Paglia is a famous feminist and social critic. But not a modern one who's primary source of knowledge is twitter; she is very extremely well educated, and she is able to speak in depth about her views (as is peterson). And not a feminist in an anti-male kind of way as modern ones seem to think they must be.

Both of them are exceptionally well read, and very smart.

Here is them in a two hour chat about modern society, and a lot into gender differences. They agree on a huge multitude of issues. I believe this to be because when you're both honest and knowledgeable, you are likely to align toward others who are as well. That is assuming you're not self-serving/selfish/power hungry.

Paglia does the bulk of the talking at the beginning of this and, while I have no problem keeping up with Peterson, she is over my head on certain topics.

I've been reading/watching Peterson for some time. I honestly believe he is the intellectual sage most needed in this moment of history. Just about everything he says are words to live by and have profound truth to them. His book, "12 Rules for Life" is one of the few books I can honestly say changed or came near to changing my life. I realize he's Canadian but he should be put in charge of Department of Education. His philosophy is what we should be teaching. Not preferred pronouns, 100+ genders, and safe spaces.

Paglia is also incredibly smart, well-spoken, and has ideas that should/need to be listened to. In a way she's an old school leftist before the whole political left was co-opted by the social justice warriors and identify politics. As you said, she's a non-man-hating feminists (sadly there are few of them these days) with a lot of ideas that deserve to be listened to.

Wow, she is tough to follow - like she's on the autism spectrum. At least she repeats herself a lot. I'm about half way through it, but I'm surprised how often they agree or are close to each other. This is why I'm drawn to the longer interviews lately. A lot of people don't necessarily line up with the 2 minute sound bites from the talking heads.

Yep, this is why i warned at the beginning when it's mainly her. Makes me feel a bit guilty for all the time I don't spend reading.

I hear what you're saying. Listening to these two (and others of course), it's apparent that I'm woefully ignorant. But this is what they do. It would take me a decade or two to even have a hope of becoming competent enough to confirm or refute the conclusions that they've come to. So I'm content to listen and keep an open mind. I've decided my time is better spent in other pursuits.
