Camo patterns and colors gor your gear

I'm just curious what everyone thinks as far as camo patterns or colors for your gear and clothes

Do you go for any specific colors or patterns? Which ones? Do you care if things match?

Do you go for more a militaristic look decked out in multicam or BDUs? Solid earth tone colors, coyote, OD, Ranger green, black? Or some other scheme all together like hunting gear/mossy oak or even normal stuff like camping or hiking style gear instead.

Just curious if when you buy gear you buy a specific color as part of a strategy (either for better concealment, look like the Gray man, look more intimidating, because others in your group have the same etc)or just because it's what you like.

What do you guys think?

I like BDU trousers and this is what I shoot in. I use solid colors, navy blue or olive drab. I often shoot on military bases and they get annoyed when civilians wear uniform. Olive drab hasn't been the color of the uniform for decades, so it's ok.

If you are going to buy BDU's, don't buy rip-stop fabric, get poly-cotton blend. It will last forever. Rip-stop will start ripping in a few years.

Edited: polyester/cotton blend, not nylon/cotton.

I think OD green is a good all purpose color for gear and clothing, doesn't stand out too much in the field nor does it come across as overly "tactical" out in public. Black or grey would probably be more lo-pro in built up areas.

I used to buy them from Charley's Surplus. You can get a better deal now on ebay or amazon. I strongly recommend poly/cotton blend (nylon was in error). I like mil.spec with bottons, instead of a zipper.

Or if you live in kali you could prolly do everything in rainbow colors and stick a dildo in one of the mag pouches and I'd bet no one would give you a second glance.

Your not supposed to use those. Bad for the circulation. I'd certainly never even blouse my trousers at all as a civilian. Blousing BDU trousers is about giving desk sitting higher ups a hard on.

They go around your boots, not your legs. You are not going to feel them even with thin boots. Keeps boot laces covered and out of the way. Very practical, looks are side benefit. We wore them in OCS..

I believe it. I have friends there too. Id prefer to live there myself. Id wear it more but i try to somewhat blend in.

I don't like camo. I bought a surplus Army backpack back when I was in high school as I never used a locker and carried all my books with me and no regular school backpack could cut it. Hate that it's camo, but is the only thing quality enough to last over a decade now.

My Spyderco PM2 is digicam as it was a good bit cheaper than the black one.

My GPS Handgunner backpack is digicam as the black was sold out.

Beyond that, I don't like the camo look. No playing operator here.

Yep. On a daily and regular basis. Camo is part and parcel of the PA wardrobe for most.

Well I suppose that's understandable but I still kind of don't get it when you can get a perfectly servicable Walls coat at WalMart for $30-$40. I don't hunt so I plump for Carhart stuff myself.
I also have a Goretex lined red fleece coat from Duluth Trader that I'm very fond of.

My BOB is multi-cam. I just like it. I'm not really worried too much about blending in if the SHTF. Where we're heading, concealment won't matter.
I don't normally wear camo out and about, so no preference on that.

Bottom layer - Cabela's insulated overalls that are similar to Carhartt's - so just a camel-brown color solid. For a jacket, my husband has a nice, warm coat that's sort of mossy oak on one side, and is reversible to a white/brown camo print. It looks a lot like the mossy oak, but with a lot more white and the occasional branch and dry leaf. He tried to buy the same thing for me, but it ended up being out of stock. Bummer. So I just steal his.

I like either camo for hunting purposes or earth tones for everything else. I mean I have camo pj pants but just so my wife doesn't see me when Im sneaking food.

Im not into multicam much.

Coyote brown. It doesn't stand out. Many people wear brown. Carhartts come in brown so you don't look like a tacticool fool when things get bad. If hiding in the woods in the summer, the ground is brown. You'll be on your belly anyways if hiding. In the winter, the ground is still brown along with the trees. Deer are brown. They are hard to see during the day and at night. There aren't too many green animals for a reason. Brown is nature's camouflage.
